Satya Nadella says Windows PCs will have a photographic memory feature called Recall that will remember and understand everything you do on your computer by taking constant screenshots. This is a great reason to ditch windows altogether. Switch to 🧑‍💻 They don’t care about your privacy or safety anymore and not hiding it either. @nixCraft, fsck that. Did Nadella consider the privacy implications? MS forcing accounts, telemetry, and now screenshots of the desktop to teach AI to build literally a interest profile of the user. This is all a bridge to far for me. Great for additional ad-revenue on a paid software (or is it service now?).

Granted, only a couple of my straggler PCs run Windows 10, but yea, not moving to Windows 11.

Wasn't LibreOffice at like version 7 last year? How did it get to 24? Is this one of those "we don't like the version number so we'll just change it?" scenarios?

@thelinuxcast it's in the patch notes for this version under "Core":

A new calendar-based numbering scheme (YY.M.Patch) is introduced since this release. This will help users to more easily see how current their installed version of LibreOffice is.

Former Ubisoft executives reportedly arrested over sexual harassment allegations

Police action comes years after allegations and a wave of company departures and firings.

@arstechnica Not surprised by the way they have forcefully required Ubisoft Connect / Uplay for PC games to play.

@gamingonlinux That has been my question. I doubt publishers and stores are going to want to track this information, so that leaves Unity phoning home...

Reminder that your PC Radiators aren't the only ones that need cleaned from time to time.

@CraftComputing

Looks like a rather costly lesson about routine maintenance.
