As surmised, there was no grand strategy in laying off the entire supercharger team. It was a rage firing because an exec defied a layoff order and now Tesla has to beg these people to return now their CEO’s calmed down.

There's a major advantage of : It has no human rights or employment laws. It can be treated as wished and it won't (really) complain or strike like people do. So it doesn't matter if it can't really replace people or deliver the same output.

If you stay long enough you might have to deal with the consequences of your own work and learn from them. But it's more convenient to leave while people call you a genius or something similar. 🤓
