Thanks. I have a Thrustmaster set in box still I was gonna hook up and test but now I donā€™t have to -.-

Iā€™ve been playing on DualShock 4/ DualSense 5 myself the entire time on PC.

Odyssey/new engine gine brought the ability to double bind control keys. So now I can use my DPad in space for precision thrusters on top of normal functions so that solved my only pre-existing gripe about FA off w/controller.

Iā€™m too busy gaming right nowā€¦but for the meantime:

I made a write up of Universal Blue when itā€™s Kinoite-main image was still in beta for Fedora 38, before Bazzite was out:

Since then Iā€™ve never had to rollback. I only rebased from Kinoite-main 38 to Bazzite 38 when it came out. And using the -lastest tag auto upgraded me to Bazzite 39 when it came out.

So easy peasy.

Think of Atomic Desktops like Chromebooks or modern Android 14/15 with 1/2 or A/B partitions.

Canā€™t really mess it up because you canā€™t mess with much of it.

If you end up needing to layer many rpm ostree packagesā€¦you could always flatten em right into your image, no more layering.

If you wanna customize Atomic Fedora images to be your own consider:

But between Flatpaks and Distrobox exporting of apps and now Nix/Fleek thereā€™s so many ways to install things in containers.

Each time I try AMD graphics, something is fucked for me. Back with fglrx, fglrx just sucked, so I used Nvidia. You would have to ask the Bazzite htpc users on discord/discourse.

I still use my Nvidia shield for streaming on my TV myself. Mostly because I am waiting for Linux to support Variable Refresh rate over HDMI 2.1+ šŸ¤Ÿ

Iā€™ve only ever streamed my AMD desktop to my Steam Deck+Dock to play test on my TV with Steam Link.

Miss the AUR? Just spin up an Arch Distrobox with ujust distrobox-arch and export whatever you want. just and distrobox are pretty amazing.

Can also do the same with Ubuntu/Debian distroboxes.

Atomic Fedora is amazing.

Linux working in one monitor but not in the other

So, yesterday I was trying to install Fedora on a PC with an Nvidia graphics card, it is a bit old and it has an Intel CPU. Basically as soon as I booted the USB it went all weird like if it would be having a graphical glitch like going all rainbow in some parts and stop responding, I tried a few more times under a UEFI secure...

If you want a KDE Fedora powered experience I definitely have to suggest Universal Blue Kinoite-main or Bazzite-Desktop. šŸ¤Ÿ

Universal Blue project is OCI RPM OSTREE container native, atomic Fedora.

Silverblue/Kinoite/Serica/Onyx, but with extra batteries+codecs+hardware acceleration out of the box.

If you update your normal Fedora system, they should all be running the same kernel.

Sometimes the installers can be staleā€¦you can try installing ISOs from the net installer or nightlies:

Ratherā€¦ I tried to find links to shareā€¦ But everything looks to be rawhideā€¦ šŸ˜•

On atomic side, ublu automatically updates the system image, any layered RPMs as well as flatpaks and other containers/Docker/Podman/Distrobox.

Like Steam OS, if you want to enable -testing channel for updates on Ublu, you can make it more bleeding edge.

Seeing famous actors e.g. Robin Williams, and Bruce Willis suffering from dementia made me wonder in later stages do the people still aware of death? We all know death because we know the process we learn from or itā€™s just that we instinctively aware of it?
