What you have asked from us doesn't have a precedent, much less enough of one to generate statistically valid probabilities." is so much more exasperating than (as demonstrated in The Hunt for Red October) "Personally, I give us one chance in three." 😉

    @lzg We're not getting worse at it, other people are asymmetrically making it harder for us. This is the pernicious end-state of Parkinson's Law. (xref https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkinson's_law but the book is worth reading as the article is at least half-inaccurate; it's quite similar to Brooks's Law but pre-dates it substantially.)
