They grow naturally where I live. Not the giant ones like Farfetch’d carries, but when I was a kid, I loved digging them up in the woods and just eating them raw lol

Cumquats. We can get them here, but I rarely see them. What could be better than a little orange you can eat like a grape?

If they’re not the ones to give us that data, who would? Polling experts in the field is different from asking fisherman if they think we should eat fish

Your thoughts on the announced job changes?

Discuss the announced job changes, especially Monk will get bigger rework, Astrologian’s cards won’t be random anymore and so on. I personally like it, because Monk felt like an overly convoluted class with these overarching debuffs. And otherwise it is QoL improvements, even if the naysayers will as always denounce it as a...

DRG is already really simple. I’m not a huge fan of positionals as a mechanic. I think they’re pretty boring, and they often get annoying with how XIV fights have been designed for the past couple expansions, but I think they should be replaced with something more engaging, not just straight up removed. Hopefully the replacement skills are fun

I can certainly see why desert nomads on the edge of the galaxy would want to believe it

If you've done the Final Fantasy marathon did you include FF XI? Was it worth it?

I’ve been playing through all the numbered games and its been great. I could write an essay or two on any of them. In general I’m only including base games and no expansions or DLC so it wouldn’t be a huge undertaking to beat 11, but I’m trying to see if it’s worth it from others who have done the marathon....

Have you done Eureka? If you love Eureka, you’ll be fine. Otherwise, id recommend playing it separately on its own

soft, but at what cost #BDS 🇵🇸 (lemmy.cafe)

Ahava Cosmetics, bought by Chinese conglomerate Fosun in 2016, runs its production site, visitor center, and main store in an illegal Israeli settlement in occupied Palestinian territory. Known for extracting minerals from the Dead Sea for cosmetics, Ahava has been a key target of the pro-Palestinian Boycott, Divestment, and...

To me, this read as an ad. Like, he noticed her skin was nice, found what she uses for it, and because it was so good, he then stole it rather than having sex with her

Google's call-scanning AI could dial up censorship by default, privacy experts warn (techcrunch.com)

A feature Google demoed at its I/O confab yesterday, using its generative AI technology to scan voice calls in real time for conversational patterns associated with financial scams, has sent a collective shiver down the spines of privacy and security experts who are warning the feature represents the thin end of the wedge. They...

You know that scifi trope where someone reaches into a bit of tech, and rips out a blinking tracker? Get ready to have to do that when you buy a new phone

This guy’s opinion is totally valid, but I would not want him at my table. My favorite part of TTRPGs is the collaborative storytelling. It is a lot of work for everyone, but that’s what makes it so rewarding. Your GM is putting a lot of effort in no matter what anyway, so it’s nice to get that back from the players as well

Isn’t Australia still part of the Commonwealth?

My fiancée and I were talking about this the other day, and the conclusion we reached was that our language, as it always has, is evolving, and these new phrases are just as valid as anything anyone has said before. People don’t want to accept it, because they think of Internet memes as silly, and that’s where a lot of this language comes from (there’s also racism involved, because, of course there is), but it’s too late. That’s what English is now. Sucks to suck, fam.

Then teach the skills you learned to do it in a healthy way. That’s kind of how everything works with kids. They have to eat healthily, respect adults healthily, study healthily, etc. All of those things are bad if they aren’t taught how by the adults in their life

Nah, see, the way they see it, that Uber driver isn’t a human being

Infynis,
@Infynis@midwest.social avatar

Humanity’s strongest trait evolutionarily, except for maybe our intelligence, is our endurance and ability to shrug off injury. I think the mindset that caused, is the reason we’re so slow to address problems

Hey i just wanna know are raccoons evil in some kind of way ?

A lot of things i thought were cute and nice like dolphines, ducks, cats (i saw one cat eat anothers new born), dogs (multiple cases of eating dead owners due to a variety of reasons starting from trying to wake em up to other malicious reasons), hamsters etc turned out to be wrong . Raccoons are the only thing i believe in...

Animals can’t be evil. They’re amoral. They don’t philosophize, they don’t feel guilt; they don’t comprehend life in the same way that we do. Both cruelty and mercy are human constructs. All animals can do is try to guarantee survival for themselves and their offspring. They’ve all evolved into a specific niche, and these behaviors you deride are just instincts that have successfully ensured the survival of their ancestors, and so were passed on. If you can’t handle the idea that animals in general sometimes kill to survive, get a plant
