I hope they survive. Castro has always been my favorite competitor — by FAR the most innovative, and easily the best-designed.

If they do go under, I'll do my best to serve Castro users, but I hope they don’t.

And don't worry about Overcast — it’s healthy and stable, and I'm in the middle of a huge reinvestment in the form of a giant migration to carry the 10-year-old codebase into the next (hopefully) 10+ years!

@overcastfm @marcoarment One thing that I’m sure is on your list of things to do, but which you should maybe move up, is a podcast directory. Are you still using Apple’s podcast directory? Is that the last free service Apple offers? I use Overcast purely for smartSpeed. Sometimes I forget about it but every time I happen to hear ATP live, I think, 'Why are they talking so slowly?’ and then I’m happy OC exists & is so cheap!

I was planning on spending my evening working on @pixelfed, but I had to deal with and then

I was able to make some progress on Pixelfed (hello /api/v2/instance api) and reach out to the Calckey devs on feature compatibility but I wasn't able to focus on as much as I'd like.

This weekend I'll be laser focused on , don't worry 😉
