The Sega Light Phaser was a light gun for the Sega Master System, released in North America, Europe and Brazil.

Just over a dozen games were compatible with the gun including Operation Wolf, Safari Hunt and Rambo III.

This year, a new homebrew Master System puzzle game was launched which made use of the light phaser: Shootagem

They connected to the systems via a USB dongle. Each dongle supported up to 4 wireless buzzers

🎳 CTA Bowling Ball

CTA Digital's Bowling Ball was an accessory for the Wii to be used for bowling games such as Wii Sports, Brunswick Pro Bowling or Ten Pin Alley.

To use it, you needed to open up the ball and place your wii-mote inside. Once the remote is set inside, plug the three holes with your fingers, as you would a bowling ball.

Came with an adjustable strap for safety reasons

🎮 Microsoft SideWinder GamePad V 1.0

The Microsoft SideWinder GamePad featured a d-pad, six fire buttons (A,B,C,X,Y,Z), two shoulder triggers, a mode and start button.

The Gameport version had a pass-through, and you could connect up to four controllers.

If you have the classic font Webdings installed, typing a capital A with umlauts (Ä), will give you a picture of the gamepad!

The 3-Way Command Control Joystick was an updated version of Wico’s original Command Control joystick, in that it has 3 changeable handles:

The famous red ball
The power grip
and
The Bat Handle

Each of the handles came with a fire button on top

➡️ Connected via Infrared. Compatible with C64, VIC 20, ZX Spectrum

R.A.T. (Remote Action Transmitter) was a remote controlled controller device launched by Cheetah in 1984.

The Directional Input was provided by a 4 direction pressure-sensitive membrane

I’ve never used one. But guessing it was bloody awful.

The Fishing Controller is a peripheral device designed for the Sega Dreamcast console. Primarily used for 3D fishing games, this accessory allows players to perform actions such as casting and reeling with increased precision, effectively simulating real-life fishing.

The Dreamcast Fishing Controller was one of three fishing rod controllers available for the console!

The Stick Station was essentially a plank of wood in which you could place your Atari Joystick in. It was made by Louisville, Kentucky-based company, Skywriter, and was available in Poplar or Walnut finish.

The very first Xbox controller, known as "The Duke" was criticised for its large size. It was replaced shortly afterwards by a smaller variant, known as "Controller S"

Despite the hate, there was enough nostalgia for the controller that in 2018, Hyperkin collaborated with Microsoft to produce a version of The Duke for the XboxOne

➡️ Versions for PC (Gameport), Mac (ADB) and Atari DE9 compatibles (Amiga, C64 etc)

The Gamepad was a joypad made by Gravis, which featured a D-pad (with screw-in joystick option) and four action buttons.

A button on the controller turned the controls upsidedown so lefties could flip it to use it comfortably.

The QJ Footpedal is a grey plastic slab with three brightly coloured footpedals. You plug your controller into the device and you can configure it to use the pedals to replace any controller direction or fire button.

Intended for use with racing games and flight sims

The Interact FX Racing Wheel is a one-of-a-kind controller, something that hasn't been done before or since. It is a handheld force-feedback steering-wheel controller with two control axes and seven buttons.

The Vtech Socrates was a z80 based educational computer launched in 1988. It was controlled by a wireless keyboard (using infra-red), which had two wired joypads attached to it.

The system also supported additional Mouse and Touch Pad peripherals.

➡️ Vectrex

The controller which comes with the Vectrex has an analog(ue) joystick and four buttons. The controller is attached to the machine via a telephone cord style curly lead.

When you were not playing, the controller sat discretely on the front of the machine.
