The women got ‘er done! Thanks @GottaLaff and @Nonilex for your fabulous and comprehensive coverage of the trial goings on. You made it so much easier on the rest of us. THANK YOU!! ❤️🤍💙
I grew up in the #Seattle area. We may have a La Niña year during which it rains, and rains, and rains - for months. Sometimes La Niña goes 2 years in the PNW and the California transplants give up and leave us.
@KatM lol I bet!! We've had a really rare wet early spring, but it's already tapering off to no tornado warnings but high drying winds and scorchers. I'm old. I pretty much don't wallow in the outdoors as I used to. But honestly, other than mud slides and drowning plants I'm good with a wet climate.
My husband is presenting in an all-day #ADHD virtual conference with other experts in the field, including Dr. Edward Hallowell, for an #ADD/ADHD audience.
He put his slide deck on #Google Slides as required. Then technical glitches occurred (slides weren’t fully loading) during the test run. The IT person asked him if he was on a Mac (he is). According to the IT person, they have trouble with Mac users being able to run slideshows when there are multiple presenters.
HEADS UP ‼️ @Em0nM4stodon Skillfully pointed out that #Microsoft#Recall users put non-users privacy at risk.
Sending anyone using Windows with Recall activated an email, an image, a file they open, engaging with them on social media, or getting on a Zoom call with them could mean your information is screen captured, catalogued, and stored.
We are ALL at increased #privacy risk. Think about that. Sure the individual could screenshot your email or convo. But this is far more insidious than that.
We bought an overpriced extended warranty from #Lowes for our new dishwasher. It’s only a year old and suddenly doesn’t recognize that it’s filling with water, so it abruptly drains and shuts down.
We filed a claim using the warranty 2 weeks ago and we’ve been trying to get a repairman out or a replacement without success. No humans, just automated hell promising a repair person will be out in 2 days. Two weeks of this game. 🙄
It feels like every damned thing is a grift these days.
In my household I am the fixit engineer and IT support. My brain just works that way, maybe because my dad’s an engineer and my mom was a computer programmer. But no matter how often I design a solid plan to address an issue that needs fixing, my husband offers an infeasible, alternate plan and then argues with me to defend it.
Most recently, he went with ‘his plan’ that ended up torquing the hinges on my SUV’s lift gate. Now he has to take it in for repair because it won’t shut/lock.
We had an argument over securing the lift gate while he drives it 30 miles to the repair shop. He insisted on an unworkable solution until I demanded it be secured as I’d planned.
There are lots of things he’s good at that I am not. So why be like this? Why must some men* argue over things they think are ‘male territory’ as if it’s impossible that a woman may actually have a better understanding of the problem/solution? I’ll never bend to that ideology.
I can’t believe we’re still trusting tech bros to sell us new “products” after they’ve shown what a buncha reprehensible bullshitters, grifters, and con-artists they all are.
Musk, Zuckerberg, Neumann, Dorsey, Pichai, Bankman-Fried, Thiel, Andreeson, Kalanick, Bezos, Altman… the list is too long.
Let’s stop helping these guys become zillionaires. They’re hastening our demise and we keep buying their crap.
