I don’t have a need for a computer and I enjoy using a controller to easily navigate the system. I can toss the controller just about anywhere without it being in the way. You need to have PC for gaming on a Linux computer having the ability to program within Linux while running your internet through a pihole so your jellyfin server can remain hidden through the VPN. Yo that last bit is messed up. I can’t even imagine working and having to grab my kiddo knowing people are watching me get to them. That seems so damn stressful for you guys. Even me as a consumer is annoyed by that. I’m the guy who would count down stops if I had to wait for super long as the “next stop” I’d get super annoyed. Not that any of it would be the drivers fault since that’s their job and it’s being made significantly more stressful almost as if to manipulate you into working more.
Knowing this I’ll know if it ever comes to my area to be significantly more understanding. Thank you for the perspective of that side.

Funny enough most have a mic they just don’t talk. Personally if it matters that much you’re joining the wrong matches. I’ve played loads of games where nobody spoke and we won most of the time. A good team will do fine with or without a mic
Honestly it’s talked about a lot. Isolated to online you would think most people are against these kinds of things but reality is the average player just doesn’t care. These companies have the statistics that show how much they’re making vs losing and when they take a chance and it sticks all the other companies align with the new money making way. That’s how we have gotten to where we are. This HD2 thing will blow over for now but it’ll come back in other ways. Likely next time you’ll see them just launch the game with the requirement and it won’t be stopped as it was this time. The issue this time was they did it after it got ridiculously popular especially with the PC community the community that sticks to being PC instead of consoles so trying to force them won’t ever work like that.
