A few years back I did pet portraits for my followers in the other place, both for some change because I was broke and for free when I felt like drawing something cute but had no ideas and liked to make people happy. Some of them turned out quite nice!

A close up portrait of the face of a calico or tortoiseshell cat with its head resting on a fluffy blanket. Done with ink, line art and graphic markers, there is a significant amount of detail in the very middle of the face, with just suggestions of shape and colour in the rest. Pastels in hue, the cat has deep green eyes. A very pretty cat, also dated July on 2020.
An ink painting with some gouache details, of two napping cat with their heads together. They look like siblings, with white bellies and faces and black or grey backs, noses and ears. It's quite cute. Dated later in July of 2020.

Here's me with the same sculpture some years ago when it was on display in a wooded area of the park, and then not me, but my mom and my brother with it more years ago when it was on display in a grassy area (my brother is older than me, so it was MANY years ago :P)

Photo of a photo with some of the surrounding photo album page included. My mom is sitting cross-legged on the ground in front of the same sculpture, her camera in front of her face. My brother, a small child with light hair, stands next to her. My mom is wearing dark clothes, my brother is wearing light-colored stuff. The background is a grassy park area surrounded by trees. Colorful sculptures can be seen behind a pond, which is only partially in the frame. The colors are somewhat muted and the image isn't sure clear, which is not helped by the fact it's not a proper scan.

@DemocracySpot I am indeed "home" :D It's a stray cat who's decided it lives here now (it hangs out in the barn and yard). My parents have been putting food inside a cat carrier in hopes of getting the cat used to it so they can take it to the vet. So, yes it may become "their" cat :D

@kel I was on Cunard's Queen Mary 2, the world's only remaining ocean liner. It regularly travels between New York and Southampton, though it also occasionally travels up and down a coast (Norway in summer, US east coast in fall, Caribbean in winter) and it does the traditional "world cruise" January-March.
It's difficult to compare directly to the price of an airline ticket, because you typically buy one way, but if you watch prices for a bit, you'll find the least popular dates go down(cont.)

@kel to about $750/pp or even a bit less if you're lucky. That's per person and you do have to pay extra if you're traveling by yourself (unless they have some deal reducing/removing the single supplement), as I almost always do, but it does include all your food so it's really not bad for a 7-day trip.

@kel It's 7 days, yes. When I first did it, 15 years ago, they were doing it in 6, and then they had a few 8-day ones in there, but since then, they've settled on 7. I think most people are ready to get off by then, but I honestly could live on that boat :P I vastly prefer it to flying, though pandemic stuff has made things somewhat more complicated for me (travel to/from the ports, etc.).
