It sounds childish, but childish insults are the only way to get under Trump’s skin because he has the emotional capacity of a toddler. Think back to 2016 when he barely even acknowledged any legitimate criticism that would have sunk any other candidate, but he sure was upset when people made fun of the size of his hands.
Biden has generally been pretty great at handling Trump, going all the way back to “will you shut up, man?” Hillary Clinton treated him too much like an adult.
The soulsborne games. There are a lot of bad souls-likes and also a few good ones. But the Fromsoft games themselves are impeccable. They could keep making the same thing over and over and I’d eat it up like a diabetic in an insulin factory.
I feel bad for Brie Larson. The alt-right hate machine really targeted her hard. She got brigaded by the remnant gamergate cucks and when she was asked a few years ago about a sequel to Captain Marvel her response was “does anyone even want me to do a sequel?”
I liked Captain Marvel so I’m glad they made another in spite of all the crap. I haven’t been to a theatre since 2019 so I’ve been waiting for this one to hit Disney+.

When we’re at the point where “criminals” are the ones acting ethically to undo the damage caused by those in power, I have to wonder how long until society collapses and is forced into another major restructure.
I’m kind of okay with this. It was a reasonable take – not a hot take or an incendiary comment or something. Mods using their power to shut down discussion – expected on that instance I guess ;)...
When an instance’s admins actively support hostile regimes and condone mods censoring posts about human rights abuses and genocide while spreading propaganda, it’s not a simple disagreement.
.ml has no problem with people defending Russia’s invasion and genocide in Ukraine, or denying China’s genocide of Uighur Muslims. But they’ll delete posts calling out Turkey and Hungary for acting in bad faith as NATO and EU members.
They’re not just allowing but encouraging disinformation to propagate across the fediverse in order to win more support for their dictator daddies. Instance admins have the same responsibility to prevent dangerous disinformation campaigns from spreading as any other social network. They can either opt to do so on their own, or they can wait for regulations to force them to like Facebook and Xhitter.
Remember when it was “if he doesn’t cancel student debt we won’t vote for him in 2024”? Then he started canceling as much student debt as he could. Now they’re mad because the president hasn’t unilaterally discarded a long-standing alliance. There is no situation where he can win with these brain dead trolls. Even if Biden did exactly as they ask, they’d move on to another nebulous reason why “it shoulda been bernie reeeeee!!!”
I’ve been seeing a worrying number of these people on Lemmy lately, sharing enlightened takes including but not limited to “voting for Biden is tantamount to fascism” and “the concept of an assigned gender, or even an assigned name, at birth is transphobic” and none of them seem to be interested in reading more than...
The only people who say online that Biden has been a bad president are right-wing trolls and Russian propagandists, or those who have believed the crap they spew.
Remember when the left was screaming at Biden to forgive student debt and then he… started doing exactly that? How far back have you had to move those goal posts in the last four years?
When a politician or other mouthpiece starts repeating Russian propaganda, I usually wonder whether they actually got paid for it or if they’re just one of the idiots who believed the lies of someone else who did get paid.
I don’t have to wonder with RFK Jr. He’s so stupid Russia would never need to waste money on him. You could send him a YouTube video claiming the sky is actually made of dirt and he would repeat it.

The only people who need to sacrifice anything and could solve all of our climate and economic problems by doing so are the billionaires hoarding their wealth and making things worse for everyone else so that they can become even more unfathomably rich every fiscal quarter.
There is nothing that the average person can give up that will do anything to improve things, besides our time, security, safety and potentially our freedom to go out and protest. We use disposable plastic products with wasteful packaging because that’s what companies offer us. And even if you can afford to buy products that are more sustainable, you’re still not putting a dent in the problem and are just funneling even more money to the rich so you can feel better about yourself.
We could have all of our modern conveniences and more while also protecting the planet and treating everyone fairly if it weren’t for the absolute evil of billionaires.
“State’s rights! Unless you’re a progressive state in which case fuck you, obey me!”
Just more fuel for my belief that conservatives worldwide are either suffering from major brain damage because they were exposed to too much lead and other harmful chemicals as children due to corporate deregulation, or they’re just evil. Most likely a combination of both. The evil ones are at the top and the brain damaged ones keep supporting them.
Nothing conservatives say or do makes sense otherwise.
Click-through is tough to achieve. Most people won’t click on a link to leave the site they’re on unless they’re highly compelled. That’s why most people only ever read the headline.
I hate that “superhero fatigue” has become the accepted reason why recent movies have done poorly. It passes the blame from the studio to the audience.
People aren’t sick of an entire genre of films. They’re sick of bloated budgets producing CGI-heavy movies that get butchered in post production because the studio needs to meddle with everything to make sure the ridiculous amount of money they didn’t need to spend in the first place is as safe of an investment as possible.
Look at Iron Man 1. It had a modest budget, reasonable effects and told a concise story. People would watch another movie like that again. We don’t need world-threatening plots that can only be presented by an overworked and underpayed effects studio.
