I don't even know why I use Facebook anymore. It used to be I would only see stuff my friends posted or commented on. I spent the last hour reporting and blocking hundreds of crap posts by people I don't know.

The only reason I haven't deleted my account is my wife uses Facebook.

@AtheistIntelligence I used to use it to keep in touch with distant family.
Then it got that I was having to use it all day just to keep up with notifications.

Then one of my family members started posting semi-racist, pro-military stuff so they got muted. Then another posted minion quotes: muted.

Then I had a year off, didn't miss it, never went back.
It's pure poison.

ScanDisk is a program included in Windows 9x - though introduced in MS-DOS 6.2 (1993) - to check and/or repair disk file systems errors. The successor to the simpler Chkdsk (“Check Disk”) utility, it infamously appeared on boot up if the system detected an improper shutdown. 🤕

Plug & Play, introduced in Windows 95 (1995), was a standard that allowed the automatic detection & installation of drivers for the system’s hardware on boot, or for peripherals when connected by the user. This negated the need for users to do so manually, saving time & know-how.

Windows 3 with Multimedia Extensions (1991) brought screensavers to Windows. These full-screen, (mostly) animated images &/or text aimed to prevent burn-in on CRT screens. Many were kept in later Windows versions, such as Flying Windows, Mystify & Starfield. What was your fav? 🤓

    HDMI to DisplayPort adapters or cables is not a thing? I only see DP to HDMI at local suppliers and those do not work both ways.

    @philheppenstall oddly, for me, it's The Cure.
    Those first few albums were great, then it went a bit "off" aside from a few good times.
    Never got into Disintegration (cue the haters for whom it's their fave)
