You should be able to subscribe to non kbin Lemmy instances. At least I can on a Lemmy instance (as you see here). Search a known community in your search bar and it should let you subscribe.

My office spent 3 years during the pandemic telling us that the future of work was here and we’d probably never work in an office again.

We got rid of our office leases, sold off property, and then the CEO received some stern letters from business associations and bam! Just like that, all mention of the future of work and telework were deleted off our sites and everyone was forced to show up in office “2-3 times per week”.

Anyone who was given permission to move across the country were ordered to move back home (within 30 days) or face immediate termination.

Those that weren’t fired and didn’t quit are now crammed into random offices around the country to take MS Teams calls with their teammates. The whole org is falling apart.

A lot of these tech goons are losers in their personal lives and get huge ego strokes being able to control these platforms. Any questioning of their actions is perceived as a direct challenge to them as a person.

What disros works on low end, slow, very outdated pc's?

So i have a bunch of pc's/laptops/computers and such that my family members refuse to depart with even though there really bad. so far they mangae to keep 4 bulky computers in total, we do have some new-ish ones but theses ones im talking about need some loving.1 computer is 32 bit and has 2gb of ram, the other 3 have 64-bit and...

100% I think internet and social media use has really spread the whole “we just wanna live and be happy” message among everyone and that’s challenging some peoples views about “others”.

Ya this is the goal. People only remember snippets of headlines so if you can pump out a lot of them with your agenda, that’s all anyone will believe regardless of it’s truth. I’m sorry you had to deal with someone who found a headline they really liked and tethered themselves to it.

I’ve had this issue with my whole immediate family with the exception of my grandmother. They genuinely live in a completely separate world where left wingers are predatory and steal kids and force them to get transition surgery (?!?!?!). Some peoples lives depend on holding up this illusion.
