In the past ~7 days I've interviewed over 20 high school students interested in science and engineering careers. Two nuggets:

  • Always pumped about the diversity (I see more females than I expected)
  • A concerning number think AI is about to solve all of our medical problems

What's in my much needed reading break feed today? The transtheoretical model for managing diabetes and prediabetes conditions. I knew there was component of behavior change when it comes to diabetes, but never pinned a name on it. TTM has a focus on education, diet, and exercise as interventions, and there's an interesting recommendation to study health literacy of both patient and provider.

I served in combat, and my campus looks like a combat zone. Why would anyone choose to bring combat to a campus? Just like Gaza, there are better options on both sides. New #email feature request. A spam filter that checks to see whether the sending domain has an http server and any valid website whatsoever or it's just a spam factory.

@mpldr I got you. I say this as 90% of my spam is some unbelievable marketing offer with no unsubscribe and when I ping the sending domain I get a 404. I'd say it baffles me that Microsoft and Google can't stop spam, but I think it's part of the biz model at this point

So Autodesk is nearly doubling the fees for a Fusion 360 non-profit license. It's a pretty crappy move considering many of these licenses are for educators.

Reason for the corporate fee hike? New fees "reflect changes to the current retail value of these products."

We won't be renewing any Autodesk license. And I sincerely hope they enjoy the competition.
