@JohanEmpa I remember reading a piece about this a good while ago and whilst switching sides is certainly possible, the main concern was cost. There was apparently the need for a lot of new signage which was extremely expensive.

@JohanEmpa Aside from this, Ireland can't switch unless the UK decides to. A bit like the EU plan to scrap daylight savings time. We can't have two driving directions or two time zones on the same small island

@JohanEmpa Agreed. Though looking at other strains on our state budget with more demanding challenges elsewhere (health system, housing crisis, public transport), people would adopt an "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" attitude and they couldn't see any justification to spending the money to do it.

Had to cancel my Standard Notes subscription today. Just another yearly cost I don't need.

I am looking at Notion as another alternative, or maybe Joplin, but I don't really care much for their interfaces.

Yet everyone seems to love Notion, do I just need to get over the learning curve?

@danarel I've used as the closest replacement for and liked it but their synchronization and encryption was unreliable. Plenty incidents if notes not synching and decryption failing made me nervous about using it.

@danarel I subscribe to in their early bird plan and found it more reliable, though lacking good inline photo attachments. Their new pricing now though is too much for what's on offer so looking for FOSS alternative.

@danarel I'm using as replacement for Google Notes but its interface has some annoying limitations like not being able to easily export/share attachments.
