    @kaiserkiwi @revengeday I probably should try that. I like some of the things it does though, honestly. I think a lot of my problem is that I use Swype and I gesture too fast and its guesses just aren't great.

    @revengeday I support this 100%. The health and well-being of the mods and admin come first and if the "juice ain't worth the squeeze", then shut it down. 🫂 It was an experiment and I personally don't feel that it was around long enough to become an integral part of day to day life.

    Personally, the toxicity of Reddit is what kept me from using it and the reason that I gravitated to DT was in the hopes that the niceness of the would make the Reddit format a more welcoming place. But that turned out not to be the case and it seems like the Lemmy devs don't want it to be a nice place. Didn't seem ready for primetime yet.

    That being said, I do enjoy the format of DT, and if we can try another "experiment" that isn't necessarily connected to the but rather a place where we can build a nice, safe, spambot-free cyberpunk discussion culture, I'm all for it!

    Maybe go back to the old BBS format for members of CI or something? :skippy3: But only as long as it's healthy for admins, mods, and users. We don't need more toxicity in our lives in whatever form that takes.

    @revengeday @LevelUp I honestly can't fathom why any CEO, after watching the Twitter dumpster fire, would watch anything that they have done and think, "yeah, that's a really good idea. We can weather that storm and keep our users where Twitter couldn't."

    I know that money makes people do stupid things, but I'll never understand how greed can change once-rational people into horrible decision-makers. Once you lose users due to a decision like that, it's all but impossible to get them back.

    @LevelUp @revengeday and they still lost users that they'll never get back, so was the "reeling it back" successful? I'd say no.

    It's the end stages of enshittification, and most apps don't survive that stage for very long. I don't know that there's any app that's truly "too big to fail".

    @revengeday Creativity isn't something that can be manufactured, so take breaks when you need to. You shouldn't have to feel like you need to put out music all the time if you're not happy with it or it's just a product. Writers and professional musicians have long stretches between outputs, so you don't need to be any different.

    Take a break, do something else for a while, and we'll all be here ready to listen when you get back. :silverhand:
