I could do this. I just don’t want to. (Starts slow, gets amazing.)

@shoq That was amazing. Awesome skill. The body control was phenomenal. The piourettes were incredible.

Today we learned that our elderly neighbour(the man) went to sleep for the last time in the hospital :sad_cat:

A little while ago he was fallen again and broke the upper leg and got into the hospital. He was in much pain and it went worse quickly unfort

He did get to say goodbye to the family and was in reasonable state for that❤️

It feels kinda weird since I was helping them out recently with (something simple) like the TV and now she's living somewhere else and he is basically gone🕯️

Tedgarrison3,

This campus situation is only going to get worse. Does anyone really think that ordinary protestors order flatbed trucks full of plywood for erecting barricades? This is obviously agitators (foreign and/or domestic) doing what agitators do. Whether he’s one of them (likely), Putin is gleeful.

Tedgarrison3,
@Tedgarrison3@mstdn.social avatar

@shoq Can't be college students ordering truckloads of plywood. Have you been to Lowes lately and seen the price?

No complaining about student debt for them...

Internal questions

This is me when Tableau gives an error, and the error message is "There's been an internal error. Contact your system administrator."

Well fuck.

stux, to random
@stux@mstdn.social avatar

So in total our trip was about 320KM across the country and we only came cross 2 US-style trucks!

They immediately stand out since they are just massive, loud and look like rolling crap

We laughed at them like many people do here :bloblaugh:

One had to have super low self-esteem to drive such a "look at my balls" truck here in the Netherlands

Happy I'm not in the US where this is "normal" :nkoFacepalm2:

Tedgarrison3,
@Tedgarrison3@mstdn.social avatar

@stux Same here, at least in NY.

Just cost me $164 to renew my trucks registration for 2yrs. And another $120 to renew my equipment trailer for 1 yr.
And another $108 to renew my horse trailer for 1 yr.

I'd never actually seen a stump grinder at work. Grinding it from my bucket list.

video/mp4

Tedgarrison3,
@Tedgarrison3@mstdn.social avatar

@shoq That's a good one too. Vermeer makes good stuff. Main thing to a stump grinder is lots of power, and a big spinning hunk of steel with teeth.

Good morning. Thanks for all the tips, geeks. The windows sharing MAY be fixed. It was Avast. I reinstalled on one of the network machines and some setting must have reverted, I guess. Still nervous that it’s a transient fix. With Windows, I never let my guard down.

Tedgarrison3,
@Tedgarrison3@mstdn.social avatar

@shoq Drop Avast. Windows Defender actually does a really good job. No need for Avast spyware when you are getting MS spyware anyways.

I just learned there was a Linux version in the past that was sold for 49.95 $ as "Lindows"

Microsoft even sued them, and nowadays it's sold as "Linspire"

(don't think it has to be said, but please don't buy that crap❤️ Linux is and should be free)

Tedgarrison3,
@Tedgarrison3@mstdn.social avatar

@stux It actually wasn't bad. The idea was that the payment was to get you support. It was aimed at windows users that wanted a way off windows, but still wanted "windows". It was meant to be very simplified, and not unfamiliar. And paying got it supported and paid for him to continue to develop it full time, rather than on the side as a hobby.

Imagine a few dozen strategically chosen bridges, shut down, weekly. Coupled with other similar actions, congress would be forced to consider urgent reform measures that would never happen any other way. We’re going to end up there anyway. We should get started.

somewhere hiding in our house :nkoFacepalm2:

Instead of keeping the mice out, Washy brings them inside to play but he loses them after a while and now we're looking together :blobcatgiggle:

That's not what a cat is 'supose to do' :meow:

Tedgarrison3,
@Tedgarrison3@mstdn.social avatar

@stux When we had cats, one of them would bring it to us to show off, and then normally lose it. But the dogs were really good mousers, but we had to move the furniture quickly so they could get to it without destroying the furniture...

@stux@mstdn.social avatar

Oof.. we just heard a loud bang from downstairs with our elderly neighbors so I called to ask if they needed help. Turns out they did since this time the woman had fallen down

Took some time to calm her and her husband down and checked for injuries, it seems they are lucky every time so far but I’m worried that will end some day..

At least she’s back in bed now :blobcathearts:

Also back to bed for me :blobcatgiggle: :pusheentired:

Oh dear, the NY AG is contesting Trump’s bond. There seems to be some question about their financial ability to deliver. Would Trump try to fool the court? What are the odds of THAT?

Tedgarrison3,
@Tedgarrison3@mstdn.social avatar

@shoq
The company that put up the bond doesn't have bonds as a primary business from what I read. Their main business is high interest loans..

Amazing... Trump had to go to a loanshark.....

Wonder which foreign country uses it as a laundry service.....

At the phone with PayPal again.. hopefully a better fix this time so i won’t have to call again within a few days

When I login on my PayPal account I get the message:

Is your ISP bouncing your geoloc around? We use T-Mobile home Internet, and I have to reauthorize my work stuff regularly because without leaving my house, I can be anywhere in about a 400 mile radius. Kinda annoying, but it otherwise works fantastic.

POLL⏵

Which do you think would be more likely to modify some behavior at Fox News?

1 Widely promoted negative branding narratives aimed at their sponsors and carriers.

2 Publicly shaming Fox News executives and producers (using their names, photos and videos) for enabling sedition against the United States.

Tedgarrison3,
@Tedgarrison3@mstdn.social avatar

@shoq gotta go after the balance sheet. It's the only thing that matters to them.

The execs won't care if you publicly shame them, because

  1. they obviously have no shame
  2. they're getting paid well and have a golden parachute.

This was an interesting article until I got to the part about the farmer who buys them from trappers and then puts them in the freezer to kill them." WTF? That's as humane and end as you can come up with? FU.

Chicken of the trees: Eating South Florida's iguanas

https://www.jacksonville.com/story/news/2018/09/01/chicken-of-trees-eating-south-floridas-iguanas/10869714007/

Tedgarrison3,
@Tedgarrison3@mstdn.social avatar

@shoq Odd, but I wonder if it is a humane way to do it. Don't the iguanas fall out of the trees down there if you get a cold snap? and then come to when it warms back up? Maybe their body's reaction to cold makes freezing a non-painful way to go for them..

Or it's just fucked up...

I am looking to compile a list of the scurrilous conservative extremists whose daily mendacity, venality and chicanery are undermining the American Experiment. Does anyone have some good starter-lists for me to cull from? There are thousands. If you’d like to help, volunteers are welcome. (It will be a fun (and useful) project.

Tedgarrison3,
@Tedgarrison3@mstdn.social avatar

@shoq I don't think Excel can handle lists that large. You'll probably want to look into a high end database.

If, like me, you put off going to smart watches for years, get with the program. Just the “find my phone” feature, and the alerts when you wander out of bluetooth range (without your phone) makes the whole thing worthwhile even before you get to time keeping, calls, messages, fitness, etc.

These tendentious arguments about whether it is or isn’t artificial intelligence, how accurate it can be with specific facts, are so beside the point. It’s an incredible tool for distilling all kinds of pertinent facts and information into coherent manuscripts, presentations and advertisements.

Tedgarrison3,
@Tedgarrison3@mstdn.social avatar

@shoq I use it for coding questions all the time. It's amazing that it can recognize code written for the software we use at work which uses python, but with a bunch of built in commands.

I have to say, that anyone that doesn’t see the creative possibilities of chatGPT probably isn’t a creative person. It continues to astonish me how good it is at learning my creative instincts and expressing my ideas in clear and even creative ways. It all comes down to the prompt: just how you ask the question.

Tedgarrison3,
@Tedgarrison3@mstdn.social avatar

@shoq Are you using the free version? or have you paid for the better one? I'm impressed by the free one, and keep wondering how the paid could do..
