Today we learned that our elderly neighbour(the man) went to sleep for the last time in the hospital :sad_cat:
A little while ago he was fallen again and broke the upper leg and got into the hospital. He was in much pain and it went worse quickly unfort
He did get to say goodbye to the family and was in reasonable state for that❤️
It feels kinda weird since I was helping them out recently with (something simple) like the TV and now she's living somewhere else and he is basically gone🕯️
This campus situation is only going to get worse. Does anyone really think that ordinary protestors order flatbed trucks full of plywood for erecting barricades? This is obviously agitators (foreign and/or domestic) doing what agitators do. Whether he’s one of them (likely), Putin is gleeful.
Just cost me $164 to renew my trucks registration for 2yrs. And another $120 to renew my equipment trailer for 1 yr.
And another $108 to renew my horse trailer for 1 yr.
Good morning. Thanks for all the tips, geeks. The windows sharing MAY be fixed. It was Avast. I reinstalled on one of the network machines and some setting must have reverted, I guess. Still nervous that it’s a transient fix. With Windows, I never let my guard down.
@stux It actually wasn't bad. The idea was that the payment was to get you support. It was aimed at windows users that wanted a way off windows, but still wanted "windows". It was meant to be very simplified, and not unfamiliar. And paying got it supported and paid for him to continue to develop it full time, rather than on the side as a hobby.
Imagine a few dozen strategically chosen bridges, shut down, weekly. Coupled with other similar actions, congress would be forced to consider urgent reform measures that would never happen any other way. We’re going to end up there anyway. We should get started.
@shoq@lakelady None of them attract enough people though.. Even though Citizens United should... but not enough people really understand what that did to harm them..
@stux When we had cats, one of them would bring it to us to show off, and then normally lose it. But the dogs were really good mousers, but we had to move the furniture quickly so they could get to it without destroying the furniture...
Oof.. we just heard a loud bang from downstairs with our elderly neighbors so I called to ask if they needed help. Turns out they did since this time the woman had fallen down
Took some time to calm her and her husband down and checked for injuries, it seems they are lucky every time so far but I’m worried that will end some day..
At least she’s back in bed now :blobcathearts:
Also back to bed for me :blobcatgiggle: :pusheentired:
Oh dear, the NY AG is contesting Trump’s bond. There seems to be some question about their financial ability to deliver. Would Trump try to fool the court? What are the odds of THAT?
@stux
Is your ISP bouncing your geoloc around? We use T-Mobile home Internet, and I have to reauthorize my work stuff regularly because without leaving my house, I can be anywhere in about a 400 mile radius. Kinda annoying, but it otherwise works fantastic.
At least the stock of Trumpet scams is finally getting down to a more "reaslistic level" :nkoFacepalm2:
#TruthSocial has somewhat beteen 8-10M total (my guess) users with a massive decline in daily use but somehow it was still "worth" $9bn :blobcatgooglypencil:
This was an interesting article until I got to the part about the farmer who buys them from trappers and then puts them in the freezer to kill them." WTF? That's as humane and end as you can come up with? FU.
Chicken of the trees: Eating South Florida's iguanas
@shoq Odd, but I wonder if it is a humane way to do it. Don't the iguanas fall out of the trees down there if you get a cold snap? and then come to when it warms back up? Maybe their body's reaction to cold makes freezing a non-painful way to go for them..
I am looking to compile a list of the scurrilous conservative extremists whose daily mendacity, venality and chicanery are undermining the American Experiment. Does anyone have some good starter-lists for me to cull from? There are thousands. If you’d like to help, volunteers are welcome. (It will be a fun (and useful) project.
If, like me, you put off going to smart watches for years, get with the program. Just the “find my phone” feature, and the alerts when you wander out of bluetooth range (without your phone) makes the whole thing worthwhile even before you get to time keeping, calls, messages, fitness, etc.
These tendentious arguments about whether it is or isn’t artificial intelligence, how accurate it can be with specific facts, are so beside the point. It’s an incredible tool for distilling all kinds of pertinent facts and information into coherent manuscripts, presentations and advertisements.
@shoq I use it for coding questions all the time. It's amazing that it can recognize code written for the software we use at work which uses python, but with a bunch of built in commands.
I have to say, that anyone that doesn’t see the creative possibilities of chatGPT probably isn’t a creative person. It continues to astonish me how good it is at learning my creative instincts and expressing my ideas in clear and even creative ways. It all comes down to the prompt: just how you ask the question.
