I have my phone on default settings (regarding display/size). It’s perfect on every other app and the OS UI in general. It’s just small in Sync. Bumping everything up one size makes it identical to every other app and the OS.

Default font size could be too small for most people.

I agree. I’d say that I have somewhat good eyesight but I had to bump everything one size up.

Thanks. It doesn’t seem to work though. I’ve set it to check for messages every 10 minutes but I get no notification. (The app was closed during that time) 🤔

Does anyone have the some problem? I’m on Android 14 on a Pixel 7 Pro.

Doesn’t work with a setting > 15 minutes for me either. I currently have it set at 30 minutes and didn’t receive a notification about your reply.

Nur weil die AfD für etwas ist, sollte man nicht gleich unreflektiert dagegen sein (auch eine kaputte Uhr zeigt zweimal am Tag die richtige Zeit an). Sonst nutzen die AfDeppen das früher oder später aus und treiben die anderen Parteien noch mehr vor sich her als sie das leider ohnehin schon tun.

Und gerade beim Gendern gehen die Meinungen auch im demokratischen Spektrum der Gesellschaft weit auseinander. Etwas mehr als die Hälfte der Bevölkerung findet Gendern nicht gut und das zieht sich eigentlich durch sämtliche Umfragen. (Und bevor jetzt jemand meint, dass die eine Hälfte die Männer sind: es gibt keine signifikanten Unterschiede zwischen Männern und Frauen)

Also jetzt einfach so zu sagen “die AfD lobt es, deswegen ist es scheiße” ist halt zu einfach.

Wem schadet Gendern?

Menschen, die deutsch lernen wollen, was für viele ohnehin schon eine schwere Sprache ist.

Menschen mit Lese-/Rechtschreibschwierigkeiten.

Menschen mit anderen kognitiven Einschränkungen.

Menschen, die, aus welchen Gründen auch immer, auf klare Kommunikation angewiesen sind. (Beispiel: “Bürger” will man nicht mehr sagen, “Bürgerinnen und Bürger” wird in langen Texten irgendwann sperrig, und dann macht man “Einwohnende” draus, klopft sich auf die Schulter weil man “geschickt gegendert” hat und verkennt dabei, dass Bürger und Einwohner zwei verschiedene paar Schuhe sind)

Aus meiner Sicht ist Gendern nicht inklusiv und schafft darüber hinaus unnötig Probleme.

This might be an unpopular opinion but I mostly liked season 1. It wasn’t perfect by any means but I think it did a lot of things right. I never wanted a TNG reunion (I still very much enjoyed season 3) but a story about an elderly Picard who has moved on. He has new friends, new things to do. Because that’s life. You don’t spend your entire life doing the exact same thing with the exact same people. And a lof of older folks nowadays feel useless and left behind. Giving them a positive role model in TV would have been nice. But unfortunately the writers/producers decided to do one of those end-of-the-universe stories that spans the entire season. That’s what dragged the season down for me.

Do yourself a favor and watch SNW. It’s the best Trek since DS9. It’s a nice blend of different Trek iterations, and reception has been overwhelmingly positive.

I’ve been watching Trek since the early 90s and SNW ranks in my top 3 Star Trek series. I also have a friend who grew up with TOS in the 70s and never really liked the new Trek shows (for him, “new” means any Star Trek produced after 1969) and he absolutely loves SNW.

Give it a try, watch the first 4-5 episodes and see for yourself. It’s really good.

To this day I can’t believe that the first regular episode after the pilot was a story about the crew acting out of character. We didn’t even get to really know the characters by then. What a weird decision.

Yes. And I doubt this will change anytime soon. Maybe in a few years AI upscales are good enough to remaster old TV shows at low costs. But until then, we’re stuck with this. Which I don’t mind that much, to be honest. It’s a product of its time, like every piece of art.

This sounds pretty good actually because it addresses my main concern with DISCO after the time jump. There has been almost no world building in the last two seasons. The 32nd century still feels like a blank canvas and a wasted opportunity. Particularly season 4 could have taken place during any other era without needing to change anything about the story.

And that they don’t drag out the mystery is a huge plus too.

I’m much more optimistic about season 5 now.
