In Canada in 1960 a person could work at a gas station, pumping fuel and washing windshields for MINIMUM WAGE and live a normal life. They could own a home, and a car and put their kids through school. They could do this as the only wage earner in a home. My dad retired in the 60s and his wage at retirement was under $2/hr. He was the only wage earner in a household of 6 people. That this can no longer be done is due to greed and nothing else.
