I comment a lot on stories having to do with state governments and legislation or regions of the country. It got me wondering how many people I’m accidentally disparaging when I don’t mean everyone in said state or region is terrible. So… Please be as specific or obtuse as your privacy filter requires. I’ll start:...
Russia attacked with airstrikes in Vilcha, Liptsy, Liman, Izbitskoye, Veseloye, Petrovka, Kazachya Lopan, Sinelnikovo, Volchansk in Kharkiv, according to an assessment from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
They’ve probably got enough machine learning to take keywords and figure out intent. That’s essentially what Google does with autocomplete. They (Google) use n-grams. So I expect OpenAI already has this all figured out.

What worries me is AI getting things wrong and perpetuating lies that are also made up via AI (maybe even the same AI). Also, how will their algorithm work? Do they fact check things they display? I hate Google, but at least they do have somewhat of a push to ensure authority and trust via their algos.
Well, they could potentially pull from various sources to make a cohesive answer. Right now Google’s SGE (search generative experience, their AI in organic search) pulls one source to answer and then offers some other links that also answer the same question.
I completely agree with you though. Shit is getting worse for no reason other than $$$$$$$
It bugs me when people say “the thing is is that” (if you listen for it, you’ll start hearing it… or maybe that’s something that people only do in my area.) (“What the thing is is that…” is fine. But “the thing is is that…” bugs me.)...
I’m not certain if this is what you were getting at, but these are mine:
An historical - It doesn’t follow the general way of using a or an with consonants and vowels. Nor does it change the meaning if I said a historical (event) instead an historical (event).
Fewer and less. I understand that there is a rule, but the rule is fucking dumb. If I say there are less people or if I say there are fewer people - the end result is the same that there isn’t as much as there was before.
Language is fluid. As long as we understand the meaning of what is being said then who cares?
I understood what you were saying! I am fewer irritated. I would personally use less, because it sounds better in this instance, but totally agree. Not sure how I’d put a number to my irritation though. I am not a robot, so my irritation isn’t exactly a quantifiable scale.
Lower octane that puts in higher octane aren’t burning the fuel because higher octane needs a hotter spark to burn it all so you’re essentially wasting money or slowly killing your catalytic converter by putting in a higher octane than what your car is meant to use.
On the flip side, lower octane in a car that requires higher means the gas ignites quicker which will cause knocking and can damage the engine.
There’s probably more to it than this, but that is what I was always taught.
I wonder who takes care of you when you’re old, or the people that maintain infrastructure, or insert literally anything else that makes society run or continue. It’s certainly not the fucks who are as old or older than you.
You must hate yourself and everything that helped you get to where you are today as equally as the kids. You were, after all, a “crotch goblin” that benefitted from much of the same shit yourself.
Yeah, and? Are you discounting how powerful emotions can be versus logic? There’s an entire industry (psychology) around this and they still haven’t solved it.
