@soatok also, every single client and server implementation has a bunch of usability issues and inconsistency that makes it really hard to recommend to anyone non technical, security aside.

It’s Time for Furries to Stop Using Telegram

I have been a begrudging user of Telegram for years simply because that's what all the other furries use. When I signed up, I held my nose and expressed my discontent at Telegram by selecting a username that's a dig at MTProto's inherent insecurity against chosen ciphertext attacks: IND_CCA3_Insecure. Art: CMYKat I wrote about Furries and Telegram before, and included some basic privacy recommendations.

Why does it feel like Signal will just fall down the same enshitification hole that Telegram did?

“Free” service…gonna need to make some real money somehow eventually.
It’s got leg up on TG now but really not in the mood of jumping platforms again. (That and I barely use TG anyway, just a few friend groups that aren’t elsewhere).

Feel like I was the last furry using Pidgin for YIM, Gtalk, AIM, MSN, and Skype… avoided TG as long as possible until everyone was there and gone from other services.

@colinstu Oh for sure. Mozilla is a good example of things going terribly wrong. I have more thoughts but I’m mentally preparing for flights and layovers so I’m a bit scattered right now lol
