    However, as I reported earlier, the current administration and "news" department have barricaded their two Warsaw HQs - to the point the "news" leaders are said to sleep in the halls, and New Year's Eve of Dreams conference was moved to a random Warsaw restaurant 😆

    Earlier this evening, a PiS MP and member of PiS-backed Council of National(ist) Media, Joanna Lichocka, was in disInfo's director's room, proudly defending "Freedom of Media and Right to Choose"...

    She was also a guest of TVPiS' "news"; her interview ran for about 20 minutes and included praise towards TVPiS "journalists"...

    In fact, about 100 PiS MPs (just over half of their total Sejm team) decided to gather at the entrance of TVP's main HQ at Woronicza Street, instead of voting against the resolution in Sejm. They don't have the majority, so their presence makes no difference.

    So what --- force indeed?

    At 2113z, the resolution calling for immediate changes in 's public media was acclaimed by . Only 344 out of 460 members cast their vote, 244 in favour, 84 against, 16 passed on.

    Somebody on X- said in relation to protests in defence of TVN24, when PiS-dominated National Radio & TV Council was extremely reluctant & unwilling to extend a broadcast licence of this liberal, truly critical of PiS, news channel, back in 2021.

    They said:

    "TVN was defended from politicians by people.
    TVP is defended from people by politicians."

    Artur Molęda reports, there's no police near the premises.

    He adds this is a change. Up until recently, police was patrolling Jarosław Kaczyński's home in Warsaw.

    And look (2nd & 3rd pic) how fiercely he was guarded in late 2020, during protests against a near-total abortion ban!

    At 0712z, disInfo relay in a National Mourning mode is still going on TVPiS 1 with "COALITION OF DEC 13TH ATTEMPTS TO UNLAWFULLY TAKE OVER POLISH TELEVISION, POLISH RADIO AND PAP (Polish Press Agency - ed.)

    Per postings from a media chat I monitor, the relay carried on all night long, and was only interrupted for daily Holy Mass at 7am (0600z).

    But got Solomon Islands BC 🇸🇧 on 5020 kHz, pretty strong and... well, not clear, as there's plenty of thunderstorm crashes possibly from the cyclone.

    @abolitionniste @elCelio @kattascha nearly all major Polish media are reporting about the elections, so I thought it should be easy to find one. E.g. look at wp.pl, onet.pl, interia.pl, TVN24.pl, gazeta.pl etc. etc. etc. if you want, I can even give you the PiS-allied sources as well 😂

    LATE POLL RESULTS!

    We've been waiting very loooooong for them as voting on some stations went way overtime (until 3am at one!), and counting the votes is running rather slow, but eventually here they are.

    Law and Justice (PiS) - 36.6%, 198 seats
    Civic Coalition (KO) - 31.0%, 161
    Third Way: 13.5%, 57
    New Left: 8.6%, 30
    Confederation: 6.4%, 14

    Right-wing coalition (PiS + Conf.) = 212 seats
    "Total Opposition": 248 seats
    German Minority: 1 seat

    I covered a Warsaw district where voting didn't finish until 0:10.

    But in Wrocław, there's an even more extreme case: a peripheral district of Jagodno, which saw its population grow by 227% in 15 years, is still voting!

    There was HOURS' long break in voting there because the sole electoral commission for the district failed to get more cards delivered. Some are waiting for 6 hours now!

    People help each other, delivering tea, pizza, and jackets.

    As back in June, Polish opposition leader Donald Tusk is holding a large rally in support of their fight against the right-wing PiS government.

    The rally is called or .

    Uninterrupted live coverage is running even on the main TVN channel, free & nationwide on terrestrial TV.

    Also on TVN24 and competing Polsat News, which are both paid... but NOT on "public" disInfo. I'm sure they're processing it "accordingly" though...

    Did you know Polish authorities ARE censoring Polish Internet?

    Try accessing nczas.com - what do you see? I only see an ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH 🙄

    Plenty of snapshots at @internetarchive including four from yesterday...

    nczas.com presents viewpoints even further right than PiS' - in particular, it is strongly nationalist & anti-Ukrainian. The blockade is apparently imposed by the Agency of Internal Security (ABW).
