@cmdln@thecommandline.social

I have been programming since I was 12 (born in '73 #genx), currently enjoy coding in #Rust. I use Linux every day; I prefer open to closed. I try to live and let live when it comes to people's tech choices.

I work in tech but am learning how better to separate that from my passion for programming.

I used to podcast, I plan to again soon.

I practice #zazen, #qigong, and #taichi every day.

See what your unseriousness and general delinquency got you? A one way trip to an Institute.

Back from the dogs' afternoon walk and relaxing. We've made plans to help us enjoy at least the first feature in tonight's special, some caffeinated treats from our delivery venue for dinner.

Which reminds me to say I'll be live posting starting at 9pm EST/6pm PST. Feel free to mute me from then until tomorrow or filter .

I finally made it out for a run this week. The cold got to me more than I expected, the second half was brutal. I dropped from my usual 12 minute mile down to 14. I am still glad I went and despite my aching lungs, the park was sun drenched and beautiful.

This morning's fire, now down to embers. Even inside, I smell like wood smoke. Not a bad start to my weekend.

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention my breakfast treat: a breakfast sandwich (my fave) using a frozen JustEgg omelet leftover from Sunday dinner.

Good morning and TZAG, friends.

A bright start to , perfect for a day off. I enjoyed my tea by the fire. The temperature is almost too cold but I wanted a change of scenery. The day feels full of potential and my mood has brightened to match it. I will enjoy it while it lasts and try again to remember that the clear sky is always there even above obscuring clouds.

My morning reading from 365 Tao may have contributed to my mood. The entry for explored the idea that more so than it's ability to yield the power of water really is its relentlessness. Also a helpful contrast of the stillness of a lake's waters at rest versus a raging torrent. And a final thought of how water's power often starts with a single modest drop.

A new day. A new chance to succeed.

Today's reading has me thinking about being relentless like water.

A drop of water carries little weight but contains multitudes of possibilities.

A cup of water can be refreshing.

A tsunami might level a city in seconds but a river created the Grand Canyon over eons - relentless as it sifted one grain at a time to carve up the landscape.

It might make a good word of the year.

I hope you can channel a little water in your life

@nlowell Today's entry was a great one with unexpected and welcome depth, pun intended.

@nlowell Very much the same on all counts.

I've gone back to some other books I've had for years, on related topics, and finding a similar experience, that they land better now. Clearly the only thing that has changed is me.
