Pretty standard airport trip so far...

✅ Casual racism and sexism from a non Uber taxi driver

✅ Didn't get through security unscathed (stickers on laptop trigger new scanners, short "have too many pockets"

✅ Airport jammed with people covered in massive logos arguing about shit. (Yes, I'm a snob)

✅ Kindle died last night and nowhere here sells them

✅ Coffee at twice the usual price

✅ Duty free gauntlet now enforced, no sneaky side door (top job making alcoholics life that bit harder)

@aphyr things I want in my life: being a member of a club that has a club house where members are happy to get involved and has a decent bar.

Seeing the family over the last week made significantly more frustrating by mums husband parroting that over population bullshit, and general racism against migrants from the UK news. Also of course while I was there the government had to announce another transphobic thing. Great. Glad to be back in Germany, things aren't perfect here, but at least I feel safe

@sarahdal "doing it properly" doesn't have to mean running webserves and all the bits. Static html via GitHub pages etc are reasonably low barrier to entry. Shout if you want to pair up and give it a try

@robyneatseverything I went to London last week and got a window! Sadly the aircon sounded like 10,000 pipes of water having air bubbles through them. Nice not to be 2 floors underground though

Took advantage of the first nice day for ages to have a trip to the coast. Took a walk down from Whitley Bay to Tynemouth, a favourite walk of mine. There may have been a Pokémon Go related reason to go to the beach, but it's always nice to go anyway and get the cobwebs blown away. It's still plenty windy along there.

Here's the magnificent Longsands looking towards Tynemouth.
