This weekend I went from Illinois -> Missouri -> Nebraska -> Iowa -> Illinois.
I racked storage servers in Missouri with 256TB of raw storage (with room to grow to 512TB in the future), emptied out the rack in the Nebraska data center, and racked servers in the quad cities data center. I am exhausted and annoyed, and now going home.
Thank you 7666 for dealing with me throughout this entire trip and helping
With Arch Linux now having an installer and it only taking me an hour and some change to get it setup, installed, running, and themed to look like classic Mac OS, I have now determined that it is a normie distribution, and will be switching to gentoo.
@astrid roleplay: I'm the data center engineer you're yelling at while I cry trying to find the right port the unlabeled DAC cable goes into on the TOR switch I accidentally unplugged (I do not have a humiliation fetish, I'm just stupid)
@astrid roleplay: I'm a systems engineer on the verge of breaking down after listening to the software engineering team discussing a possible migration to FourPorp in our daily standup after I just finished fixing the shitshow caused by migrating to Shnorm from OpenFux six months ago.
I can't believe I bought 128TB of storage for less than $1000. Thank you @sun and others for helping me get petty revenge on that eBay seller that blocked me by sending low ball offers until he accepted one.
