@nirak also Microsoft has censored the emojis available in teams to eliminate work inappropriate content. In particular, all the ones related to alcohol have been removed

(Was I expecting more pushback from "holding an in-person conference is a bad choice on several fronts" take, in that blog post I wrote? I was. I didn't put the reason for that expectation as well, in my head, as they did, but yeah, I was expecting some defensiveness.)

@coral I will happily confess that at least half of why I like attending conferences in person is hanging out with internet friends IRL and going shopping and having the university pay for most of it.

But I'm not sure that I'll ever go to an in-person conference again regardless.

In the preface to , Queinnec mentions a book where you write a small -like piece-by-piece called Operating System Design: The Xinu Approach as one of his prime influences, and I'm looking at it now like, how have I never heard about this?
