“MPs call for issues leaving carers with huge debts to be fixed ‘without delay’.” So if it’s like infected blood, PO scandal, Windrush, Hillsborough, Grenfell that ‘without delay’ could be a while. #tories#Labour
Keir Starmer has issued his sic pledges to the country.
The approach - if not the actual list of promises - is similar to Tony Blair's tactics, with his "Pledge Card" pre-1997 election which brought a Labour landslide.
People were widely confident that with #blair and #labour itcwas true that "things can only get better"
With #Starmer's version of labour, there is no confidence that any thing will change much for better - not least because he, and especially #reeves keep telling us everything they wont do
"Things can only get bitter"
“Jeremy Corbyn has loyally represented the people of Islington North for over 40 years and remains a Labour member of more than 50 years. His own local party voted unanimously to express support for Jeremy and assert their right to choose their own parliamentary candidate.”
One of the most confusing issues in Leftie political debate is Kenta's social class. In the orthodox Marxian view it's simple: maybe Kenta is petit bourgeois, but he's certainly an employer, and that's it: upper class. In the sociological view, it's equally simple: Kenta is a skilled manual labourer with a few employees and probably no university degree: working class. Then there's the American usage, where as the owner of a small construction business, Kenta is middle class.
@RichardJMurphy A minority of the electorate voted for 14 years of #Tory chaos and indeed for Cameron's disastrous #Brexit gamble. Rightwing policy is destroying the disUK, which desperately needs ethical, climate-friendly politics of cooperation, compassion and reason.
The only person who is in a position to change this pattern is #Starmer by introducing a form of #ProportionalRepresentation, so that the left (as opposed to #Labour) has a voice.
Decisions, decisions. ‘Scottish’ Labour have gone very quiet on their variable support/discouragement of trials of rent caps in several areas of Scotland. I wonder who will win, party donors or some desire to begin to alleviate the problems across the UK?
While housing is seen as an investment rather than a utility, we all suffer.
lol, I think we all know what's going to happen now, don't we?
