@dnc You have seedlings 🌱 focus on the wee plusses. To answer your question- a few thoughts, the seed trays should be filled to the top and a clear plastic bag, plastic cover (or propagator) will help keep the moisture in. Also, parsley takes ages to germinate so don’t chuck it out. Stick it outside somewhere sheltered and it will come up eventually.

@dnc The usual lighting time is 16/8, not 12/12.
It is also not sensible to sow such different plants together. Some need more light, some want it warm, others cool.
It is better to plant each variety separately.
Unfortunately only in German:

@dnc what are you going to do?

I see three ways forwards

  1. cut the pots to liberate the roots

  2. separate the pots to plant with the plants

  3. cut the roots and trust that they'll regrow, maybe with better roots

Maybe you could do an experiment by implementing all three!

@dnc It is mainly the first germinated leaves that have turned yellow, and these will fall off anyway as the plants continue to grow. So don't worry about it.

@dnc

I can half-read this. will edit this post when i'm done

by taking advantage of the fact of japanese being three languages in a trenchcoat, two of which i speak, i can make out the following:

microwave (500W):
take frozen product out of package and heat for 2 min

microwave & oven toaster (1200W):
★ [i cannot read this line but i assure you it's not important]

  1. take out frozen product and defrost in microwave for 1 min (defrosting mode)
  2. preheat oven and heat for 3:30 to 4 min

the text is japanese but it's made in korea

edit 2: the brown-ish text mentions ketchup and mustard

Oh what do we have here? A hot dog IS a sandwich after all! I used honey mustard by accident, instead of grown-up mustard. I still ate it but, I wasn’t happy about it. https://www.diningandcooking.com/1334273/oh-what-do-we-have-here-a-hot-dog-is-a-sandwich-after-all-i-used-honey-mustard-by-accident-instead-of-grown-up-mustard-i-still-ate-it-but-i-wasnt-happy-about-it/

@dnc. No. These are good seed potatoes.

Irisfreundin,
@Irisfreundin@troet.cafe avatar

@dnc There are no "white hairs" - these are roots already. The potatoes should be placed carefully in potting soil so that nothing breaks off.

It is more the case that the seed potatoes are not good without such sprouts.

@dnc I never fertilize small plants. Potting soil usually contains too much fertilizer. I meager it down with coco coir and lava granules. Vermiculite is produced using very much energy producing CO2. You contradict all climate-friendly intention by using such an industrial product.
No fertilizer until the tomatos are 4 weeks planted at their final place unless you'll get big red water collecting balls without aroma.

Taiga,

Is the soil moist? That type of curling most often happens when the seedlings aren't getting enough moisture. Are they indoors? Sometimes, too much sun will also do that to seedlings. Good luck!

@dnc so far i've planted 9 varieties, 8 from one company i've never used before and 1 set from burpee. I also have seeds from cayenne and jalapeno i grew here a few years ago, as well as some bespoke seeds sent to me by a friend in california that i still have to sprout and plant.

Here's to hoping it's a good pepper growing season!
