@dnc Good question -- moisture retention is a concern with a raised deck above ground, depending on your rainfall. Around here in my area (hot, warm climate) I'd likely want to line the bottom with something to retain moisture and prevent loss of water through the bottom (heavy duty plastic or?) but also have adequate drainage so it's not a heavy water logged tub.
@dnc sorry if I'm being dense but it looks fine to me. I'd put it somewhere sheltered in bright but not full ☀️ for a week or 2 to see if it starts growing again but I'd be happy for it to stay alive and grow good roots for this year to really get going next.
@dnc yep! I slice them into sections with sprouts put them in a shallow dish with water and let the roots grow for a few days. Then I plant them. But you can plant them like this too.
@dnc Yes! Baby them. Don't overwater them, but keep the soil damp. Give them some good light and don't let them get too cold outside yet.
They've only got their cotyledon, not their true leaves yet. Give them at least another week to grow their true leaves out of the center and maybe at that point give them some bamboo skewers and a very light string tie up along the stem to keep them growing upwards.
@dnc If you plant them down deep in individual pots, then yes. Place the plant so the stalks get covered down in the soil, and let the tiny leafs rest on top of the soil. They need much more light to grow into sturdier plants.
@dnc It’s an NBA commemorative release by Don M: In March 1962, Wilt Chamberlain, the superstar of the Philadelphia Warriors, achieved an extraordinary feat by pouring in 100 points in a single NBA game.
@dnc They got a No. 1 ranking in the Chile Top 100 wines of 2020 list by James Suckling. (3 were given 100 pts that year). Your palate can be aligned to Suckling (cool) or I read folks often calibrate by adding a -3 to a JS score.
@dnc No wine cooler I've seen is 100% at target temp. Just like my home heating, it hits the target temp, then stops so as not to go too far. When it records a rise of a certain amount beyond target (only the mfg knows, 2 degrees?), it kicks back on again and chilling starts anew. Typically, mine will then cool to 1 degree or so UNDER target temp before it shuts down. Of course, in certain conditions the compressor will be running more.
@dnc runner beans could climb the corn stalks, as in the classic three sisters polyculture. Can't speak from experience in that combination, but worth considering.
