Have been known to meticulously edit photos to create something fantastical, but quite often just scribble on things.

It's time to get organised for the Friday Sparkly Dance Party!

Here's what you need to do if you'd like to join in:

  1. Pick a dance (all 50 so far are below)
  2. Film yourself doing the dance step a few times
  3. Upload the clip to Mastodon, tagging me in and noting the dance number
  4. Have a laugh with it, it's just for a bit of silly fun 🕺 💃

The video should be:

  1. Safe for work
  2. Wide not tall, with you positioned to one side so I can add the dancer on the other side
  3. Any location you want, but not too dark
  4. Filmed from a static position rather than handheld

What I will do:

  1. Edit your video to a single cycle of the dance (picking the one that loops best)
  2. Add the relevant Friday dancer to the scene
  3. Add some sparkles or rainbow if suitable
  4. Turn it into a looping gif
  5. Post it on a Friday under the hashtag

Happy to adapt if I can. I can slow down a dancer to match you (or speed you up if you prefer), or could do a sitting down version or similar. Let me know.

(side note, I once had a work project involving making digital puppets from photos of Real Human Beings and I had to send an email out to make sure that everyone in the photos I'd received had absolutely, definitely, no doubt, seen the demo about what was going to happen to them 😆 - I WAS making them dance!)

@patchworkbunny @thebaywindowgirl I will be both surprised and impressed if anyone volunteers for that!

To be fair they're all going to be approximations, as my wee dancers don't have knees or elbows, and I'm fairly sure in some instances their limbs grow or shrink mid-move 😆
