Keeping a record of your magical work is essential. During the 20th Century, there was a fashion in some subcultures for engaging with magic with scientific rigor. I remember seeing this like long-haired surfer dad maybe in his 30s, blond, tan, crouching down in front of his toddler who is having a meltdown and he was like "Little dude! You must chill out!"

He said it with such warmth and kindness. And like the kid was an equal he was trying to help learn emotional self-regulation.
