ex_06,

But their business model is solely based on not disclosing your info. If they do, most of all for just some silly comments on an Internet forum, be sure they are going to fail.

ex_06, (edited )

This is a false dichotomy. Also, in the case you haven’t noticed, this sub is part of a solarpunk server. We want solarpunk :)

ex_06,

I think you are getting downvoted by a mix of people who think about it being a bit ableist policy (even tho you did include that for people who need it they should be able to take it) but also just because it’s full of US people. They are just 4% of the world population yet they act like we should talk about solutions taking them into account everytime. It’s one of the reasons that made me give ownership of slrpnk to another person, I feel like it’s a bit pointless to talk about organizing while the userbase is so spread and often so US focussed, they are basically behind in every policy.

Just move on, don’t worry my friend

ex_06,

In other comments you are rooting for israel

Maybe the fascist is also in the room with you ;)

ex_06,

I’ve been using quad 9 dns for years and torrenting without issues.

These laws are made just to make happy the people getting rich with calcio streamings and alike. IPTV and stuff is enforced, for the rest it’s just business as usual

ex_06,

Genocide supporter lol

ex_06,

I am both but my other comment is kinda getting ignored lol

I don’t even need a vpn to pirate, it’s business as usual.

All this stuff is just for IPTVs that stream soccer matches because Calcio is the king sport here.

The site posted by OP is kinda useless journalism lol. AirVPN quit just for a reason: they are an Italian company. Mullvad, Proton, Quad9… Business as usual.

ex_06,

Yep, good to note for other people. I’m aware but here torrenting is kinda allowed. If you do it for yourself and without any profit motive you can just keep going without any kind of issue

The dns change is just to not have to use proxies to access stuff like libgen and piratebay in my case :)

Any other greens feel under attack recently from democrats in the United States?

I’m voting green because if democracy is ‘on the ballot’ then I figure it’s the choice I actually believe in and not just the slightly lesser of two evils. And so recently I feel targeted by democrats and its getting kind of weird and I was wondering if any other greens are experiencing the same thing in the US. I’m...

ex_06,

Downvotes are caused by being very much off topic

ex_06,

And, to be fair, a gofundme for stuff like this often gets full very fast

If the community is big enough to get sued it’s also big enough to spread a link for funding, easy

See, here's why I think the Parramatta light rail should be extended from Sydney Olympic Park to Strathfield.

It's not just that it would allow it to connect directly to many of the train lines serving the western and northern suburbs, including the T1, T2, T3, and T9. Or intercity trains to the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, and Newcastle.

It's not just that Strathfield is a major bus hub with many services across the western suburbs.

It's not just that DFO Homebush (between Strathfield and Olympic Park) is a busy shopping centre that generates a lot of traffic.

No, the big reason I say it's a good idea is because these photos were taken on the 526 bus, between Strathfield and Olympic Park, on a Sunday afternoon.

ex_06,

My brother, this should be posted on your local community :P

Recommendations for movies and series are overrated because most of the stuff out there is bad and if it’s not is probably on some recommendation list all over the web

With music is not so easy but for books/movies/series I have no issues

Why a Decade of Protests Didn’t Lead to Revolution | a new book discusses ten years of democratic anarchist protest movements and how they only served to empower right wing autocrats (jacobin.com)

Why is this solarpunk? Because changing society takes people power. Because protests change nations. Because for the last decade protests inspired by democratic anarchist principles have sprung up in nation after nation, from the Arab Spring to Occupy Wall Street. And the after action report of the first two decades of the 21st...

I mean… I don’t want to sound a smartass but it’s the whole point of organizing. If one person alone can sabotage your actions are we sure that they are the issue? Just plan strategically aware of your powers for some achievable targets and so you can keep people who don’t want that same target or ruin the plan away. The naiveté is thinking we can avoid using their tools against them or trying to do politics without getting our hands dirty with some incoherence or ‘‘impurity’’

in this answer there also could be a space for ‘‘machiavellan’’ leftists that find more barriers instead of allies because they are not pure to others but it would be a bit of shouting against the wind lol

it’s sad having to think about politics like a strategy game? yes

do we have an alternative to have the future we want? not really

ex_06,

One thing that is not talked enough, and in fact it’s not discussed in this blog post also, it’s the need of staying away from parents for some time or more. Villages are just doomed to be abandoned by anyone who wants to explore any facets of society that need high density of population to be developed…

At this point is probably easier to just reclaim cities imo, aiming for the smaller ones

is there any advantage to jailbreak when i already got no ads and i’m 100% of the time on airplane mode? genuine question, not judging :o

ex_06,

thank you!

How do you have a baby The Solarpunk Way? AKA, without using Amazon?

Weird title, I know. But I’ve recently found out that I’m pregnant with my first child. It’s an equal mix of anxiety, excitement, and anger at just how consumeristic having a goddamn baby is. So I’m curious how my fellow Solarpunks would handle the introduction of a new small mammal into their world....

ex_06,

Personally I would just do a public list that they all can read to avoid buying unnecessary junk. Anyway, if they use Amazon you can do a proper wishlist and just share it with them. I know it would be nice to avoid amazon but, honestly, you are going to raise a child soon, better pick more important battles like his/her education!! Don’t worry too much about the rest, just go for a comfy middle ground and then use your energy for the child :)

ex_06,

i don’t know if it exists but it’s really easy to know about them before they happen: follow the politically active collectives, associations or unions of your city and you will find out. rss, activitypub (fediverse) and telegram are suited for the job because timeline won’t make important posts disappear in favor of ads or posts with more engagement.

ex_06,

Somehow this video is missing the part where is shows the actual foam-crete structure inside…

Yep, very very annoying w_w

ex_06,

Sorry, maybe it’s me but I don’t find it clear what you need. Like, the actual scope of all of this. And which are the 2 communities you wanna link? Actual physical communities and so you are building a physical network? I’m not sure what are you aiming for 😮
