I felt pretty good this morning so got the bike out for a ride and managed to get 5 miles in under 30 minutes, which has been a goal for a while! Finally got my average speed over 10mph. Whew!

For the past few days I’ve just felt exhausted every morning… besides my bike ride and short walk over the weekend I haven’t had any energy to got out and do anything. I did yard work Sunday and that exhausted me. Maybe I should see my doctor…

@rasterweb just got back to working out, bike ride tomorrow. Had a headache for a few days , realized it was my neck and shoulder muscles. I’ve been treating that with the massage gun and some icy hot, success.

Someone said they hated how search bars are now becoming "AI" bars in so many places...

I'm guessing it's being forced upon users because they need people to do the training (for free) so they can create more profits for shareholders.

Some of us just want to search for something, not get some bullshit (probably wrong) answer from AI.

@rasterweb How many search bars already use AI but just call it out for marketing? My guess is many, and if you want to call it Machine Learning go ahead. Apple has had ML for years.

@rasterweb There’s always has been something determining what you get with what you search for. So this has long been a problem.

Hardware companies love AI because it means more sales of "faster and more powerful" hardware, which means more money for them.

Software companies love AI because it means you'll buy the new version, or re-up your subscription...

@rasterweb I was contemplating the idea of a technology freeze on computers. What if we had to use what was available right now for say 10 years.

Someone told me that Chat-GPT saved them hours of work...

My response: If Chat-GPT is saving you hours, are you now able to work less hours and instead spend that time doing other things? That should be the primary goal of AI... Give humans more time to do as they please, not just cram even more work into the same amount of hours.

@rasterweb There’s an unsettling number of people I work with that do this.
