I wanted a copy of GPU Pro 4 in my hand, so I bought one online (and they are pricey nowadays).

Just received it.
It's incorrectly printed. 🫠

It was sent from a small UK shop, I'm surprised they let it pass like that.

I'm sooooo disappointed...

Dropbox has a "fun" bug since a few weeks on my machine.

Each time I wake it up from sleep, and a file is modified, Dropbox app becomes crazy and eat up all my ram.

Take 5 minutes for the system to notice and kill it (or maybe it crashes because it can't allocate further).

I doubt I will bother report the issue, given how unhelpful their support is on their forums.

Neighbor has been drilling holes in their walls on and off for two weeks now, the sound resonates quite loudly in the building. Woke me up at 8am today.

At this point I presume their apartment looks like hollow cheese.

Ho hey, looks like Halo Infinite finally works on my Linux ! About time.

I love the HUD style, looks like it's very close to the one in Halo 5.

A lot of time I feel like I'm not making any good progress on my projects.

And then I look back at my dev blog and see all the stuff I have done, which is usually quite consequent.

I think my struggle is related to my attention span and tendency to procrastinate by doing something else that what I intended. This seems to translate into a sentiment of "laziness" or under achievement.

The Table API of ImGui is great... when it works.

Silly idea of tonight: use FFI to create a pointer to random memory/garbage and load that as texture to generate a glitch pattern.

I was playing Portal Revolution and got a soft lock with my last automatic save: I pressed the last button which triggered an autosave, all while the screen was going dark to tell me I was out of time.

So when the save reload it re-fade to black and reload back to that same save. 🙃

Rewatched The Maze Runner tonight. I still like the vibe of that movie a lot.

Except the ending, and the follow-up movies. What a let down for those.

I would have really liked instead more movies about young adults overcoming trials and Indiana Jones like death traps. Keeping the mystery going as well !

I wonder if anybody tried to use FXAA before doing display mapping BUT by still applying and reverting a curve ? 🤔

Aka:
1 - Switch from HDR to SDR
2 - Apply FXAA
3 - Switch back from SDR to HDR
4 - Apply regular post-process stuff

With search engine now becoming less and less reliable (even I can notice that results have become cluttered and don't match my expectations anymore), I wonder if there is room for building an handmade search engine.

Seeing how useful and popular something like Graphic Programming weekly is, I wonder if a community driven index could work.

It opens the questions of how it would be managed and to avoid content being pushed the bad way... but I like the idea of proper tagging and word of mouth.

Alright, time to try to update my system once again.

Last time I lost the screen because the GPU driver got messed up. First time I had to to a revert of the system.

If it gets borked once again, I will seriously consider jumping onto another distro.

I watched the new Star Citizen engine promotional video/showcase and noticed they have a kind of lens-flare I haven't seen before.

Looks like it's post-process based but has a bit more details to it.

It's basically several ghosts of the main image, but with some kind of rounding/lens deformation and additional coloring.

Took advantage of the Black Friday to finally get a PS5.

And holy shit Alan Wake 2 looks incredible. Really happy to enjoy it in HDR on my OLED tv. 🤯

I have been catching up and playing The Talos Principle (in order to play the second) and I love it.

I almost never felt I was blocking on a puzzle, the learning curve is great.

I also love that "old-school" rendering with burned whites. It has its charm. :)

Roughly 19h in and currently finishing collecting the stars before I do the last level of the Tower.

Latest trailer for The Talos Principle 2 is out to announce a demo on Steam.
