I’m to dumb for ARCH, and I find default Fedora and Ubuntu very annoying (although I haven’t tried them in a while). I did have a good experience with mint several years ago. What distros should I consider?
There is no such thing as “unskilled jobs”, but there absolutely is such a thing as “unskilled labor”. I have seen complete morons trying to sweep a floor, and failing to accomplish anything, despite being trained and coached several times on how to do a simple task. Even then, the shittiest worker I’ve ever worked with would have been more productive had manglement just fucked off and not existed.
People try to wave me on all the time. They refuse to move until I go. I refuse to go until I can fucking see what might fucking kill me. Twice, the guy waving me on has been rear-ended by a vehicle three times their size.
I see it referenced constantly here, not quite as much on Reddit. I know what it means, but just wondering why such the popularity over on this side of the fence?
You know you’re in a room full of true metal heads when everyone has distinctly point to when metallica started to suck, especially if they all point to different albums.
I know I’m not a “true metalhead” because I never cared about the culture, I only cared about the music. As far as I can tell, metallica still makes banger music. I am not an authority on this subject.
context also matters. Sure, I’m normally opposed to a song about how fascism is cool, but if it’s from the OST of some Starship Troopers spinoff or a Warhammer 40k thing, I might be down for some satirical good times. You know, for the lulz of course.
I keep seeing headlines like this all the time. I’m over here like “This has already been a thing for years”. Whenever I’d setup a win10 pc for someone, I’d have to clean the ads out of the start menu as part of the setup. So I ask again, how is this any different from the bullshit we’re already dealing with?
Here's a non-paywalled link to an article published in the Washington Post a few days ago. It's great to see this kind of thing getting some mainstream attention. Young children have not made an informed decision about whether they want their photos posted online.
My mama taught me back in the day to never use your real name online. Now, multiple decades later, I laugh at people who are my age and just now learning that lesson.
The stylus for a surface tablet uses one AAAA battery, and it will last for hundreds of hours of use. I wish I still had mine, as my surface tablet was my art tablet and I miss doing art. Nobody pay attention to the fact I was bad at it.
The sad part is that we don’t know if mullet-man is being satirical or if he actually drank the kool-aid. Either way, pasty-white-boy is starting to learn some media literacy, and is getting bullied for it.
My home town had four churches and no homeless people. What homeless people are those churches supposed to help?
Meanwhile, in the city I now live in, there’s tons of churches and half of them give free food to the homeless every single day, and there’s lines going around the block at all of them.
There is no magic bullet that can solve homelessness. Anything proposed must be a part of a larger solution. There are tons of proposals that, if actually done and not half-assed, would help immensely.
Regardless of your opinions about her specifically, it’s a simple fact that positive societal change doesn’t happen by asking nicely. Look at every civil rights movement ever. Nothing got done until people were inconvenienced and companies lost money.
