In the Lazar poll from yesterday, the prewar coalition is at 46 seats. The opposition's 74-46 advantage is a bit soft in that Religious Zionism is below-threshold, and in an actual election when it had any risk of not clearing the threshold it would run with Otzma again, but even that only softens the advantage to 73-47 or at worst 72-48. The poll was taken after the ICC indictment of Bibi, Gallant, and Hamas leaders; Bibi is not getting any rally-around-the-flag bounce from this.

@Alon hopefully the news that he got 4 warnings about the danger of an attack in 2023 are going to overcome any such effects

Working on an update to the Performance Inequality Gap series1, and it occurs to me that I don't think web developers grok how hard mobile is. There are new devices, targeted at the US market, w/ 320x240 resolution, 512MB of RAM, and 2014's finest A53 cores. They sell for $50 and do volume:

@developit @slightlyoff same here, I always buy a used iPhone not higher than 300€ (works out to be 2-3 years old model, I choose ones with over 95% battery capacity). Together with a preference for using web apps wherever they are available it keeps me painfully aware of the 1,5mb bundles everyone is pushing out.

But what if it wasn’t a genocide and we needlessly stopped the endless slaughter of innocent civilians?

gryzzly,
@gryzzly@mastodon.social avatar

@anarchiasl @RememberUsAlways @maggiemaybe @aral 6 soliders and 1 civilan was killed by the attack from Lebanese territory. The alleged use of White Phosphorus has supposedly injured 9 people. Israel is not doing any collective punishment in the Lebanese South. Statements like that are demonising and dehumanising. Unlike the other side, who are shooting at my parents’ town indiscriminately, Israel is shooting at the rocket launchers and terrorists.

@aral showing "collective punishment" or "endless slaughter of innocent civilians" is demonising and dehumanising. You are spreading hate instead of attempting some constructive discussion.

@gryzzly@mastodon.social avatar

@aral You mean the Hamas actions towards Jews and towards the population of Gaza, right?

How did Europe’s gas and electricity prices fall after the highs of last year?

With the war raging on our continent, we had to take measures to protect people from high prices.

It was the beginning of plan, which meant:

  • increasing gas reserves,
  • saving energy consumption,
  • purchasing gas jointly,
    working with reliable partners like Norway and the United States,
  • Increasing the deployment of renewables across the .

Our depicts its singular impact.

@EU_Commission and yet the providers seize the moment and lock customers at 0.35€ per kwh for 12 months. Windfall tax + force adjustment of the prices without lock ins is what is missing for the public to feel your efforts.

Slovenia, we will be at your side.

Today, President Von der Leyen visited Slovenia to witness the destruction caused by the floods.

We’ve announced a financial package to help:
🔹 400 million euro from the Solidarity Fund for direct damage.
🔹 Additional loans to make Slovenia more resilient to future natural disasters.
🔹 €3.3 billion euro of cohesion funds that can be reprogrammed and help rebuild.

Threads is the most fun, most interesting new product of the year, and no one in the E.U. can use it, or will be able to use it anytime soon, because their own elected officials passed a law that effectively bans it.

Nice job. Have fun over here in the library.

@gruber lol, please keep it as well as the right to keep guns and no right for abortions in your beloved Threads permitting country
