There is an upside to how dysfunctional Google has become in it’s post-layoff all-in-on-Ai era. For every spam website that rises to the top of their badly maintained search engine a dozen pirated movies and TV series that are otherwise unavailable in Iceland get hosted on Youtube

The Orhem independent cafe in Stockholm was hit by a fire last night, just before their season opening for the First of May. The collective running it says the fire was on the outside of the shutters, "but no one shall stop us gathering today" and they will be serving sandwiches, cakes and coffee despite now having no running water or electricity. https://www.svt.se/nyheter/lokalt/stockholm/brand-i-orhem-polis-dementerar-explosion

Remember folks, "rubber bullet" is a misnomer.

"Rubber bullets (also called rubber baton rounds) are a type of baton round. Despite the name, rubber bullets typically have either a metal core with a rubber coating, or are a homogeneous admixture with rubber being a minority component." - Wikipedia

It is more accurate to say "Riot police are shooting students with rubber-coated-metal-bullets."

I know that doesn't roll off the tounge very nicely, but that's ok 'cause it probably shouldn't.

@markhburton @FantasticalEconomics I think that's largely because rubber bullets were associated with Northern Ireland, where their horrific effects were seen, and then the authorities promised they would never be used on the "mainland".

Sweden's Christian Democrats (KD) will lose their seat in the EU parliament, suggests a survey by Swedish Radio News showing them polling just a quarter of their 2019 vote.

I saw an infographic a few months ago about different kinds of reply guys. One of them is the person who should make their own post rather than shoehorning a random point into your mentions.

Since I saw that, I've been telling such guys to go and make their own posts instead of playing word-assocation in my mentions. And I feel better for it.

(It probably also does them good as well)

A lot of the time when someone has entitlement and privilege they can do things that are really intrusive and even aggressive - because they're stepping on you - but because they think they're entitled to do it, they do so in a pleasant and friendly way.

And so the people who set boundaries get to feel like the ones being weird and aggressive. And the original aggressors feel like victims. It's a head-fuck.
