Tomorrow is a public holiday, and I remembered to turn off my normal weekday alarm before it unnecessarily wakes me, hurray! And I've set another alarm to remind me to turn it on again, so it /does/ wake me correctly on Tuesday, Erm...hurray?

@faisal Thanks, so I was about to reply by saying "Oh, I'm on an old Android 10, with the default alarm app, it doesn't have anything that smart" - but your comment made me double check, and lo! there is a pause alarm feature that I'd never noticed before. Thanks.

Anecdotally, what is weird, is how easy it is to distinguish your own baby's cries from others, even though you can't pin point what the difference is.

Tore a pair of trousers playing on the see-saw with the kids. Again. 🙄 I think there needs to be a friendly range of trousers, designed for see-saws, swings, slides and sandpits, but available in an 38" inside leg.

@sarajw This seemed to be what I needed to convince the checker that a variable was not undefined when it was in an if statement that checked exactly that, but the checker didn't realise: https://www.typescriptlang.org/docs/handbook/2/everyday-types.html#non-null-assertion-operator-postfix-

@sarajw Writing it does feel a bit like you're shouting the variable name at the checker, as if it's hard of hearing: "No, I said variable X is none Null, not 'Ron Full', NONE NULL!"

@josh Yeah, always a bummer. When this happens I try to remember that it won't be forever, and one day they (hopefully) won't need my help, and I'll be glad to have been there for them. I try to remember that, I have to admit I don't always, especially when there was something pressing at work.

@tldr Perhaps you can help me here. The band "Sea Power" used to be called "British Sea Power". My CD collection is ordered: Artist alphabetically, then release date. Does their newest CD, under the updated name go at the end of all their other CDs in 'B', start a new position in 'S', or move all the old CDs down to 'S' and tack this one on the end there?

Child B is potty training and had an accident today, needing new underpants, but we'd forgotten to stock up their stash in the nursery. So they got a loaner pair from the nursery that are day of the week themed with 'Friday' written on them, and very clearly styled for a gender other than Child B's. I'm shocked; I don't know how they can confuse a child like that - it's a TUESDAY! They're going to think tomorrow is the weekend now.

@deeds I think they were less confused than we were, and wondering why they were wearing pants that didn't feature dinosaurs - a question I feel more adults should ask themselves. Intermittent holidays, and illness, do cause confusion. This weekend is also a long one, which is /good/ but can lead to confusion.
