Dumb af

Even the best parents are not responsible for their kids crimes. Some teenagers have bad ideas, some kids are narcissists, and parents can’t always be near them to assert full control. You can not jail someone for the crimes of someone else, unless there is involvement, period.

If I was to try drugs to ease out, I would probably go for cannabis in a small dose. It’s not physically addicting and some autism patients say it really helps them. Although all drugs are a form of roulette when it comes to the effects.

Nurses Protest 'Deeply Troubling' Use of AI in Hospitals (www.404media.co)

“Life-and-death decisions relating to patient acuity, treatment decisions, and staffing levels cannot be made without the assessment skills and critical thinking of registered nurses,” the union wrote in the post. “For example, tell-tale signs of a patient’s condition, such as the smell of a patient’s breath and their...

Isn’t there a way to do both for every patient as an additional information layer?

The dangerous part is not the AI, but the idea that AI can REPLACE everything. And that’s usually on the management.

Yeah nah that doesn’t do it for me. No one deserves that, period.

Right, so with all me very specific troubleshooting questions I should go where exactly?

Ecosia? Very limited search results

Yandex? More obscure results, probably not what I’m looking for

Bing? Ok on general stuff, not great on very specific questions

Yahoo? Never tried it, heard the enshittification has become bad

Duckduckgo and similar? Proxying Google

Edit: apparently it’s proxying Bing and not Google. Idk if that’s better but I got that wrong.

There is no way to get around Google. Everything else is either highly specialized, very limited or unusable in general.

Also feel free to chime in with your experience, I’m so down to hear what everyone has to say.

It’s always important to remember that “putting up with stuff” for judges is mostly them making their case appeal prove. Because the judge accepts the bond, now they can’t really bring it up on appeal. That’s the whole reason.

The judge is only more lenient because he wants to pin Trump down and leave him without good arguments on appeal, which is what we want - nothing would be worse than to see everything get overturned.

I would petition the government to make lobbyism illegal. Maybe this could be the start for cracking down on corruption more successfully…

hoshikarakitaridia,
@hoshikarakitaridia@lemmy.world avatar

My logic says yes but mostly it’s gonna be PR issues. But reality says there won’t be any other consequences because politicians don’t like to oust other politicians and courts don’t wanna get involved with separation of power issues.

So no but yes but no.

hoshikarakitaridia,
@hoshikarakitaridia@lemmy.world avatar

They are taking so long because they wanna squash his chances for an appeal. They are trying to leave his lawyers without any wiggle room, so that when they appeal, it’s just a formality and no substance.

And for now, they have done a pretty good job keeping the case waterproof.

Trump is funneling campaign money into cash-strapped businesses. Experts say it looks bad. (archive.ph)

Donald Trump’s main 2024 White House campaign fundraising operation sharply increased spending at the former president’s properties in recent months, funneling money into his businesses at a time when he is facing serious legal jeopardy and desperately needs cash....

I don’t get why cheating the tax code is so glorified. “OMG this dude circumvents rules we made so that money works fairly. He’s awesome” how do you even get there?

hoshikarakitaridia,
@hoshikarakitaridia@lemmy.world avatar

This is such a bullshit response from them lol. “We need less people concerned with product quality and more that take care of popularity. That’s how we make it better” yeah nah.

Peak troll behavior.

Can’t even find the argument between your insults, this comment is hilarious, but not in the good way.

And if you wanna have an answer that’s actually informative: it doesn’t matter which company, which country or where, but having content based information as well as metadata can lead to so much power, and there’s a good argument to be made that no one deserves blackmail levels of power over your life, especially a random cooperation that’s beholden to no one except it’s own rules.

And before you go on a tirade again: no, this has absolutely nothing to do with country or anything, this is an ethical dilemma which can be extended to any country.

Kremlin spy suspect arrests may be tip of iceberg, says former German agency chief (www.theguardian.com)

He said espionage and sabotage were an integral part of the “standard toolbox of Russian geopolitics”. The secret service activities in Germany exposed by this week’s arrests, he said, were “from that point of view no surprise. Rather, it’s the tip of the iceberg.”He said espionage and sabotage were an integral part...

That’s how I like my DMs. Always trying to kill the party.

hoshikarakitaridia,
@hoshikarakitaridia@lemmy.world avatar

It gets even more complicated.

For the suit you need evidence, but prosecutors have privilege for their whole case, so technically the inner workings are not discoverable. Now maybe the new judge / prosecutor can waive that on behalf of the government (I straight up don’t know if that’s possible), but either way, this is gonna get ridiculously complicated.

Boeing put under Senate scrutiny during back-to-back hearings on aircraft maker's safety culture (apnews.com)

The Senate Commerce Committee heard from members of an expert panel that found serious flaws in Boeing’s safety culture. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said the public wants the Federal Aviation Administration and lawmakers to ensure that boarding one of the company’s planes has not become more dangerous....

That’s worse than bad, that’s hilarious. And hilarious should not be a word used to describe the safety of airplane construction.

hoshikarakitaridia,
@hoshikarakitaridia@lemmy.world avatar

Yes. We call that discovery issues and if judge has reasonable belief about malicious intent you get into sanctions which can contain contempt charges and referrals to the bar.

Or to put it simpler: if he doesn’t, he lied, and that’s a bad look. If he does, there’s a chance he loses his law license, goes to jail, or jeopardizes his case even after the fact.

That’s not evil, that’s JUST dumb.

hoshikarakitaridia,
@hoshikarakitaridia@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah that’s the most straightforward display of mens rea for war crimes I’ve seen. Specifically “the second one is reserved for all the civilians”, cause there is no other justification.

Idk bout that, his main company lost their business license in NY, their real estate values plummeted and the Truth Social Stock is in a down spiral as well. He is facing a number of civil as well as one criminal suit and the majority of his format accolades has either been prosecuted, jumped back to Republican default values or has abandoned him.

Smells a bit like he’s at wit’s end, even though it took quite a while. I’m confident at least he won’t be able to hide from consequences anymore. Time to clean him up together with all the glass shards he left behind.
