@Trekfan2230 I don't know yet ☺️

I'm at a crossroads with Mastodon. It's been fun, and I've met some very cool people. Things have changed in six months, though. The community feeling has diminished, and there's more of a "shouting into the void" type vibe now. Too much politics, too many Twit screen shots. Not enough cats and shoegaze. I've been busy lately, and the Mets are sucking, but there's still been a large shift from when I first joined Fedi.

Honestly not sure if I'm going to stick around. Still thinking on it.

Apple Music is terrible at differentiating between artists and bands that have the same name.

@ianRobinson@mastodon.social avatar

@geoffduncan Disagree. I like it. The Dolby Atmos support is superb.

ianRobinson,
@ianRobinson@mastodon.social avatar

@geoffduncan Fair enough. I was sceptical. But Dolby Atmos with AirPods Pro is the best music listening experience I’ve had in the 50 years I’ve been listening to music.

Belfast Lough 360° from Bangor Pier. That 5km seafront dander was bloody marvellous! You can hear the drone I posted about earlier.

I tried to upload the video here but uploading video to Mastodon dot Social sucks. Instagram Reels link. Alt text below the URL.

A video with a 360 degree spin showing Bangor Marina, Bangor town, and the sea in Belfast Lough. With wind noise and the noise of a drone flying overhead. There is a blue sky with a few clouds. Beautiful day.

Just been buzzed by a drone on Bangor pier. I wonder if it was filming and if I’ll be able to find footage later.

Is there any way of following a without getting the emails? I'd like to just check in every so often, not be inundated with articles I don't want to read.

ianRobinson,
@ianRobinson@mastodon.social avatar

@confusedbunny RSS maybe? This one has an RSS feed and it's on SubStack https://www.daydreamtrash.com/

I don't know about any without custom domains.

Tonight's Hey Siri song was selected by Siri. I have a spreadsheet that has an export of my music library from the time I switched from Apple iTunes Match to Apple Music matching, and I wanted a record of what was in my library in case it screwed up. It didn’t.

The spreadsheet has 14522 rows. I asked Siri to pick a random number between 1 and 14522. It picked 8565, which is the row number for New York City in the spreadsheet. See picture.

I might use this method to pick more often!

Apparently it’s 15 years to the day since I joined and used it to get the most out of attending 2008 where I met some lovely people, many of whom are still friends.

It may be a suitable moment to finally delete my account but it’s sad and hard when over the years Twitter has given me so much laughter, friendship, jobs and has also helped me learn so much about myself, the world and the technologies that are part of my work life.

Edited to say that I've pulled the plug on it.

ianRobinson,
@ianRobinson@mastodon.social avatar

@simon It’ll be 15 years for me next week I think. I joined for WWDC 2008 comms. I think you might have too.
