to the Alice in Chains album Dirt. Back in the 1990s I was really into Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, but I never really gave AiC their due. TBH I think they were a bit subtle for me.

Anyway, I got into AiC in a big way after listening to their full albums on The Grunge podcast a couple of years ago. Those vocal harmonies, wow! Now I see them as one of the most underappreciated bands of the 90s.

@strypey if you like Layne Staley’s vocals in AiC, check out “Mad Season”, the collab between Layne and Mark Lanegan. It was recorded towards the end of Layne’s career — it’s really something. I am a diehard AiC fan, one of the best bands of the 90s without a doubt.
