Hm so it will delete the YouTube videos too? I have an account where I backed upp my dads home videos from the 90ies. I started mooving it to peertube but it’s not done yet.
It’s still on a hard drive on my dads computer but it’s more difficult to access there. And my peertube has also the normal server backup. But now that you say that, I should back up those videos on the Synology too.
I was thinking about how there are similar communities on different instances. In some cases that is desirable/ok but maybe it would be cool to have another option....

Since on most fediverse instances you don't automatically upvote your own comment, do you do it manually? What's considered "proper etiquette"? Ok I didn’t double check if those buildings really are Microsoft and Apple but that doesn’t make the unexpected contrast to Linus Torwalds on his walking desk less funny.
It’s not what the joke is about, it’s about the operating system headquarters not some random company which uses the operating system. Linus Torwalds on his walking desk is the headquarters is literary the Linux headquarters.
This is the second advertising post I’ve seen on lemmy and they were both today. I’m wondering how other people feel about it or if they’ve even seen posts like this?...
My dear, religion is ads are like a penis. It’s a perfectly fine thing to have and take pride in, but when one takes it out and waves it in front of my face we have a problem.
I disagree, ads should be pull not push media. If I want to buy something I go to the different manufacturers website and pull all the information from them and then decide what I want to buy. I don’t need them to shove it into my face for the other 364 days of the year.
Yeah but it’s still quite OK if you go to an actual Italian restaurant. Obviously the normal pizzeria will be uneatable with a lot of honey on, etc. but there are specific Italian restaurants.
a.k.a. the 90–9–1 principle. Does the Fediverse follow this rule, or are there more creators here as early adopters? Are you a creator, a participator or a lurker?
Mostly a creator, back when I used Twitter and Facebook I used it as a write only medium. On the fediverse I try to read some stuff also and participate by commenting and voting.

For example, I’m a white Jewish guy but I’ve adopted the Japanese practice of keeping dedicated house slippers at the front door.
