As long as it’s not enforced it will keep being used like that, and to be honest if you haven’t been on AskReddit you would always assume that AskLemmy is for questions about Lemmy, it has even lemmy in it’s name.
Sure, but it’s every time a new person who does it. Nobody reads the sidebar before posting the first time. Later perhaps out of curiosity but not the first time ^^.
Every couple months I get the urge to organize my lab/home office equipment into a rack/cabinet, but never follow through on it. I ocassionally look on craigslist for deals, but everything is either too far away or too big. I’d rather pay more for a smaller rack that doesn’t go all the way to the ceiling and will just show...
Both my dad and I’m looking into racks too but haven’t pull the trigger yet. My dad has more stuff because he has a house and I only have a flat. He has everything in a cabinet and my stuff is behind the table on the floor it looks terrible.
But only my dad has some rackable things, mt stuff is just raspberry pi, small switches, etc. But I feel once we’d have racks we’d start buying rackable stuff in the future.
I discovered today that my most played game on Steam is Astronner with about 500 hours, and my second most played is Surviving Mars with about 500 hours.
I used to check the front page at least once every day, and occassionally check specific subreddits. Now I don’t look at reddit unless theres some drama, like mods getting purged, then I’d go there and enjoy the drama. Occasionally there will be questions that only reddit has the answer to so I have to reluctantly use it. I...
Same here, although, like once or twice a week when I remember that I used to go on reddit I go there to see what’s going on, but the habituall check is now always lemmy.
I moved to Korea and every year June, July and August I’m incapable to be outside because of the humidity. On the way to the convenience shop my underwear is already sweaty....
Oh yes I totally agree, I was researching dehumidifiers but It’s kind of difficult to get this information so I still didn’t buy any. Thanks for the specifics!
The overweight is probably a big factor for me too. And it makes sense, the fat is a good isolator and keeps the heat inside, once the sweating doesn’t cool you down you become miserable.
She definitely is, meanwhile we got our first child together so there is no way back :D. I’m trying to convince her to go to Europe with me for the children’s sake, Korea is not very friendly to young people. Let’s see how it goes.
With the weight, I lost a ton of weight just before I came to Korea, but since then got more than half of it back. I need to figure out how to lose it again.
I never said that Google was evil for doing that. And I already set up the process to move my videos off Googles servers so that they can delete it. Jeesus Christ some people …
Record heat waves sweep the world from US to Japan via Europe (www.koreatimes.co.kr)
I’ve been to Hokaido in Japan last week and the temperature was nice. Back in Korea so much rain.

Why is asklemmy dominating my news feed?
I think for the past 3 days my entire feed is 90% asklemmy posts. Not that I dislike asklemmy, just is a lot of this one community.
Merging communities
Is there a way in Lemmy to merge multiple communities for viewing? Sort of like multi-reddits?...
Thoughts on server/network racks?

Is seeing Oppenheimer in 70mm film worth it?
I could make a 2 hour trip to see it in 70mm, or see it in IMAX in my neighborhood. Is the difference significant enough to warrant a special trip?
In which game did you spend the most hours?
I discovered today that my most played game on Steam is Astronner with about 500 hours, and my second most played is Surviving Mars with about 500 hours.

Be honest, do you still use reddit?

How do other Europeans survive the raining season in Asia?

Libreddit and Teddit are practically dead
It appears API rate limiting has effectively killed these alternatives. You essentially get nothing but “Too many requests” 429 errors....
What habits or practies have you adopted from cultures besides your own?
For example, I’m a white Jewish guy but I’ve adopted the Japanese practice of keeping dedicated house slippers at the front door.
