I have a crafts channel on makertube.net already but would prefer to spread myself around in case one server goes down. Also tbh I'm not even sure devlogs would count as "making" anyway.
Tried the instance finder on the PT homepage but it's pretty useless so if anyone knows where is stable and welcomes this kind of content I'd appreciate it! Thanks.
Would anyone recomment an IP #camera that will work purely locally, with no cloud etc connections, available in EU (PL)? Most likely will be inside, though ones able to survive outdoors are appreciated as well. Ideally to be connected with #HomeAssistant and/or #Frigate (once I get around to setting that up 😅 ) #HomeAutomation @homeassistant@homeassistant
I’m using the Unify G3 Flex inside and outside of our summer house in Poland. It can be run local only if you don’t connect it to their cloud. It has a nice HomeAssistant integration too.
Completely Automated, AI-Powered Newsletter: Top Headlines in Politics, Events, Technology, and Business
Hello Everyone!
I'm excited to announce my newest project - an entirely automated Top Headlines Newsletter, powered by GPT-4. Top news that is picked and written entirely by AI is delivered to your inbox every morning at 9 AM PST.
Our system is fully automated, taking care of everything from selecting topics to sending the newsletter. This means that if I were to die today, you would still receive a newsletter every morning.
Our newsletter is integrated with our site, and all stories use 2 left, 2 center, and 2 right wing sources (characterized by AllSidesMedia).
I truly think that AI can revolutionize how we consume news, from mitigating polarization, stopping misinformation spread, and minimizing bias. Please let me know your opinions below!
Why I totally understand the urge to create a tool like that, it’s a really cool thing to create, reading the output of a AI generated text seems very unnecessary. If a human writes it, there is an intention behind it, it might happen that a new connection is made. When a language model spits out text it by definition can not come up with anything new, it just rehashes what it has seen before, that is just not very interesting in my opinion.
Like if someone would take a short sentence and instead sending that it would give it to a language model to expand on it, the language model will not give any more insight, it will just make the text longer and waste the readers time. Instead the reader should probably use AI to reverse the long text into the short one again, so we gain nothing, just waste resources ^^.
But that is my own personal opinion there are other people who seem very much interested in auto generated content.
You know what fucks me up? The fact that several different #Fediverse platforms can seemingly talk to each other seamlessly, even the ones that seemingly were not even meant to talk to each other. Stuff on #mastodon is visible here on #kbin. My account from a #Lemmy instance can see my other account on #CalcKey. There's several different "not-Twitter" services each with their own interfaces and instances, and they all chat with each other. I can feel my brain expanding as I learn all of this.
