Amazon has, for some reason, changed the release date for the Lurking paperback from Feb 21, 2021 to....March 7, 7431
does this mean it plans to hold any orders for over SEVEN THOUSAND years as preorders — probably!!!
I have no idea what to do right now other than listen to WKCR (yes, through the jazz breaks) and fume that it's the lesser of two evils party that brought us to this moment.
@jomc I channeled my anger into writing our City’s Police Commision asking for a review of our police agency’s plans for how they respond to protest on our five college campuses and also our public school campuses. (This is in response to the bizarre escalation that resulted in the April 5th action of riot police from five agencies clear a building on Pomona College’s campus.)
truly, I wish more science fiction imagined technologies and infrastructures more like Minority Report does: Completely needless, consistently implausible, delightfully Rube Goldberg-ian (well, see, there’s a really really weird woman moaning in a bathtub with her siblings…)
The audiobook for WRONG WAY is currently on sale for $2.99 on Audible. No idea how long this sale will go on, but I can say the performer, Jennifer Jill Araya, did an incredible job—and biased as I am—I can't recommend her work enough.
Not a proper review or anything but what I like so far about the 3 Body Problem on Netflix is I can pay attention with the dumb and useless parts of my brain that usually otherwise have me clicking on something like Selling Sunset
Amazon shipping shitty print-on-demand copies of my book is not even the worst of the supply chain issues I've encountered. But it's ugly and unreadable and feels symbolic of how the release of this novel has gone for me
I am just barely going to file my taxes in time how the hell am I supposed to opt-out of various do-not-scrape allowances from Web 2.0 sites I haven’t logged into in seven years before various vullsjit deadlines
Internet! I have a virtual book event w/ Sarah Jaffe hosted by the internet Archive on leap day. It's an incredibly fun series and I'd love to see you there.
San Francisco! We have a very fun evening planned with me, Robin Sloan, Susie Cagle, and more on Feb 23rd at Et Al books (2831a Mission Street). Would love to see and meet Mastodon friends!
Los Angeles!! THIS Saturday afternoon at the Edendale branch LAPL in Echo Park I'm speaking with screenwriter Lindsey Villarreal (Tales of the Walking Dead, The Purge etc)...excited for this!!
