The one thing I've noticed is that if someone with an Italian sounding name gains any hint of notoriety in the US news media, there is always some sort of mocking of/play on the ethnic name, even from typical allies.

Sorry, but this shit is eye-opening and gets old super fast.

Interesting, one of our appears to be foraging wild olive trees. (the provenance of those olives is very unclear, they are wild olive trees--ancient--underneath the oaks here. Perhaps spread by birds from early settlers?) Never had olive honey before!

Recently setup @zerotier for a bunch of my machines. I previously tested it from a different location within the country. Last week however I also had the opportunity to test is from well outside of the country over very bad networks. It worked surprisingly well :) Loving the concept of it.

I’ve been sick of the narrative around closing, so after I had an appointment at the day spa that’s in the mall, I decided to walk around and do some shopping. I used to buy stuff at Nordstrom, but hadn’t in many years. This trip reminded me why.
The categories of clothes they had were:

  1. Fancy dresses
  2. Stuff for teens/kids
  3. Stuff my mom would wear
    Nothing hip and casual, the stuff most SF women I know would be tempted to buy. Of COURSE they are floundering. Their stock sucks.

@webuiltthiscity If I need specific pieces for a thing or event, I usually go to Nordstrom Rack for random fill-in items (I need a new bag/some jeans/maybe a new casual jacket, etc.). I had a multi-day dressier event to attend recently (think men in casual suits or sports jackets), and thankfully my pre-Covid what-if-I-need-to-go-to-a-wedding-or-baptism wardrobe still had a couple of dresses I could fit into.

Not loving this new thing where my iPhone SE’s battery drains extra fast if it has issues finding cellular service. Had 2 uncomfortable moments lately while traveling where the battery drained way too quickly.
