  1. DOJ has this tape for months to a year.
  2. Trump gets the tape in discovery this week.
  3. It's immediately and mysteriously leaked to CNN (a network whose new owner is trying to cozy up to Trump).
  4. Trump yells that the DOJ leaked it.

Sure, Jan.

Just drove through Stockton, CA and there was a big sign advertising the Epoch Times as “trusted news”. Just direct right wing “freedom is slavery” propaganda, basically.

“The Epoch Media Group's news sites and YouTube channels have promoted conspiracy theories such as QAnon, anti-vaccine misinformation[41] and false claims of fraud in the 2020 United States presidential election.”

  1. I suspect this is legally and Constitutionally correct.
  2. I hate it.

Why? Because it would prevent a scenario where voters soundly reject Trump and Trumpism. And in the long run, only voters can save us from fascism, anyway. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/state-election-officials-prepare-efforts-disqualify-trump-14th/story?id=102833123

So just so I'm clear on this, the Republican House caucus is SUPER MAD at the minority Democrat caucus for not stepping in to prevent them from shooting their own foot off, and therefore, are taking people's offices away.

Do I have that right?

Nowhere in the current version of this story is a single mention that most credible legal analysts call this claim preposterous. Or that if confirmed, it would effectively make the President a dictator.

Both of these seem things worth informing the public about. https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/08/politics/trump-fulton-county-georgia-immunity/index.html

Today has been an absolutely craptastic day for the rule of law.

Saying that there has to be a uniform rule for applying 14.3 for federal offices would be one thing. It’s not a terrible principle, just one not present in the text, so it would save Trump while showing how bankrupt the so-called “originalist” framework is. Ok.

“The whistleblower told Insider that he was finally ordered to stop investigating Giuliani and the rest of the Trump White House in August 2022, after months of what he says were persistent efforts to frustrate his work, at a meeting with three FBI supervisors at a bureau field office. Insider was able to confirm the agent's account of the meeting with a second source with knowledge of what took place.”

The real headline should be: Why didn’t the Secret Service come to the same conclusion as the FBI? And why didn’t the FBI take action on a domestic terror threat rather than leaving it to local police? https://www.citizensforethics.org/reports-investigations/crew-investigations/fbi-significant-possibility-of-violence-on-january-6th/

Jack Smith did not go home.
This indictment of the former guy (aka the Defendant) has all the important things.

If there’s an eye witness here — say the sycophant who bring up Hillary while Trump is handing secret documents like they’re diet Cokes — how does any reasonable a jury not convict given this evidence?

Once again, things the CDC could have brought to the country’s attention any time in the LAST THREE YEARS:

"Aim for at least 5 air changes each hour”
"A portable CO2 monitor can help you determine how stale or fresh the air is in rooms. Readings above 800 parts per million (ppm) suggest that you may need to bring more fresh, outdoor air into the space.”

Reminder why “debating” RFK is ridiculous: He’s a liar who spews lies about everything. You don’t debate that. It’s not a viewpoint or a good faith argument. https://boingboing.net/2023/06/23/jake-tapper-calls-out-rfk-jr-for-lying-about-a-news-piece-tapper-did-about-him.html

OK, so, Chesebro, the lawyer who started writing down the criminal conspiracy to overturn the election before the results were even certified, was ALSO walking around in the crowd at the Capitol with Alex Jones who was exhorting and riling up the crowd that was implementing the delay tactic critical to the plan he had written up? Just wanting to get all of this straight here.

Report from the “Face Eating Leopards Party”

“I was reliably informed Trump isn’t funding any of us who are indicted.

Would this change if he becomes the nominee? Why then, not now?

I totally agree this has become a bigger principle than just one man. So why isn’t MAGA, Inc. funding everyone’s defense?”
