@dungeonHack I use them daily on my Mac, and it was the same when I used Linux. I wouldn't say Mac encourages folk to use tabs. They're just there if you want to use them.

@phanpy is such a great UI for Mastodon, and stupid-simple to self-host.

I’ve been using it for the last couple weeks and it’s been fantastic. It’s replaced the 3rd party apps I use.

I wish would sort their keyboard out. The text correction is shockingly bad, especially when swiping to type. It’s to the point where I have to proofread everything I type.

Perfect example - it just corrected “proodread” to “progress” WTF??

I feel like had this solved like many years ago.

@iamnickops I don’t think they’re god awful, but their keyboard is poor. I’d rather a bad keyboard than all the tracking Google does, which is why I haven’t personally moved back.

(yes, reply guys, I know Apple tracks too, but it’s the lesser of the 2 evils IN MY OPINION)

@dev_ric It’s been many years since I used a Samsung as I never liked their overlay and apps. Can’t remember what it’s call now. GeeWiz, something like that?

@rj To be fair, they do have context aware keyboards. IT will show a numpad when it’s asking for something like a phone number of MFA code. I think it depends on the name of the input field underneath though. So I don’t think that’s really Apple’s fault.

The slide down thing is only on iPad…well it’s not on my 13 Mini at least, but it is on my iPad. Instead I have to tap the symbols button to change the entire keyboard, like some kinds of caveman. 😂

My search engine skills are failing me tonight. Does anybody know of a tool that will convert an HTML document into markdown? Linux obviously and CLI would be nice. I want to use it for a script.

@mike You could just install one of the markdown editors. They ask have the ability to select all the html and copy it as markdown, I believe.

@thibaultmol @mike They don’t convert per se. They allow you to copy the html as md, or vice versa. Then you can paste the new format somewhere. Ghostwriter and Typora do this, I’m pretty sure.

@thibaultmol @mike I just tested it. Looks like it doesn’t convert HTML to MD, it just copies the plain HTML. Ignore me.

I spent a couple of hours this morning putting the finishing touches in some Kirby updates before switching DNS back from Ghost. I made the DNS change, immediately found something wrong with my updates, and switched it back. So, we're still on Ghost for now. Wild morning here.

If textarea/block has content, render them. Then you could use one or both. Happy to help if you get stuck and want to explore it more.
