Anybody on ‪@bookstodon‬ with recommendation. Long road trip ahead with my , with plenty of opportunity to finish almost any book in the next couple of weeks. I love audiobooks (mostly sci-fi and fantasy). I’ve tried to get my kids (8, 10, 13 and 13) to be interested in audiobooks… but I have generally failed. I need something that will grab their attention. Would love to hear ideas and thoughts.

There are "The Diaries" series by @marthawells - Scifi/comedy/actions (in that order) - most of the entries in the series are short novella, so are easy to get into.

I left Facebook because they started messing with the timeline algorithm and refused to let me sort by newest.

I noticed I visited 9gag a lot less now that they messed with the timeline algorithm.

Though I think I'd survive Reddit without the third party mobile app, merely a massive drop in activity there, the actual last straw would be if they finally remove the old.reddit - which haven't happened, but it's a matter of time.

Lemmy user can reply on that post, and I can see it on Mastodon.

I can follow Lemmy user, but their new posts appear under Notification, not Home. Weird.
