As the “Organizer” of the family, there should be an easy way for me to remotely schedule a software update for all of our Apple devices.
Right now I have to hunt every device around the house, which is becoming real annoying real fast.
Also why can’t the Apple TV be updated from the Home app like the HomePod can?

This is amazing: back in 2003, a Chilean broadcaster showing the original Star Wars trilogy played beer commercials not as an ad break, but edited them in as if they were part of the movie. Even Palpatine is cracking a cold one.

@huwr yeah, 9 year old me would be watching his channel in a loop. The research he sometimes has to do is mind boggling, and how he overlays photos/blueprints slices in his 3D models is fascinating

How do you deal with dynamic type in your apps? Do you embed every screen in scroll view? I solve this problem using ViewThatFits view and embed my content into scroll view only when it doesn't fit.

lol I set up HomeKit to detect motion in the smart camera and turn on the lights.

The lights going off is detected as motion and they come right back on.

@steveriggins @nicklockwood isn’t this the problem of the camera? I believe HomeKit offloads motion detection to the devices themselves.

If you haven’t kept track of the War in Ukraine lately, this is what modern warfare actually looks like: a swarm of cheap drones buzzes around filthy trenches, periodically bombing terrified, powerless soldiers desperately trying not to be noticed like in that first Squid Games’ challenge.
The resulting carnage is captured in 4K ultra-HD, enough to see the pupils of every victim, and put in a video compilation with the Benny Hill theme playing over it.

Sneaky Swift behaviour that surprised me just now: in a repeat { … } while condition loop, the “continue" keyword will jump execution to the end of the loop, i.e. the evaluation of “condition”, and not to the top of the scope.
